Probably Pokemon, then DBZ. First anime I feel in love with is Yu Yu Hakusho and it's still my favorite series.

It may not have been my very first, but circa 1994 I bought or rented a VHS copy of "My Neighbor Totoro" for my kids to watch. I knew it was Japanese but didn't know at the time that Japanese animation was called 'anime'.

Only anime that passed on the TV when i was a kid was Dragon Ball and Naruto, but i desliked both of them and would only watch naruto later, and there were also Pokemon and Bakugan that i watched alot but i'm not sure if that counts, so One Piece was the first one i trully watched with the original japonese audio

Brotherhood the GOAT. Re-watched it couple of times and it's still the best anime I've watched so far.

Probably Pokémon, although I have early memories of Toonami, and sometimes watch whatever they showed (I remember YuYu Hakusho).

Probably Dragon Ball. It wasn't even in my home country, but when I visited India over the summers. I also watched Sonic X and Doraemon a bit.

Not too sure, I watched a lot of animes when I was a kid. I remember that I really liked watching Card Captor Sakura, Hamtaro & Oban Star Racers. The first anime I've watched with subtitles and that got me really into this hell was Lucky Star. I remember being extremely confused about this anime because it would constantly make so many references of other anime, which I didn't know about at this time. Konata is still one of my best waifus <3

Death note. I really liked it at the time and it was something very different for me. I still am fairly new to anime but I am liking almost every anime i have watched yet. I wish I started watching anime earlier.

It was either Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh, or Bakugan Battle Brawlers.

...no, I wasn't joking about that third one.

Either way, card game/monster battle anime were popular on TeleToon back then.
Some of you never watched Bakugan Battle Brawlers on TeleToon in 2008 and it shows.

It was between Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh, or Dragonball when I was a kid. Didn't know what was anime at the time, I just watched whatever was on TV.

Pokemon I guess, although I didn't know it was anime at the time (or what anime was) so I'm not sure if I wanna count it or not.

•Before I knew what anime was: Pokemon

Pokemon was pretty fun back then, I remember always hurrying back home after a long, excruciating school day just in time to watch the newest episode. I remember watching the end of Ash’s journey in the Diamond and pearl era and crying my eyes out. I remember witnessing Ash finally beat Paul only to lose to a Dar-Ok they weren’t all good memories, but the Pokemon anime will always have a special place in my heart.

•After I found out what anime was: Death Note

The perfect start since I’m a huge fan of psychological thrillers. The theme was simple yet something that anyone can relate to and has thought about at least once. Light’s battles with L were intense, captivating, and massively entertaining to say the least. It was almost never boring nor uninteresting and kept me on the edge of my seat most of the time. What Death Note unfortunately suffered from was lack of planning, which ended up causing it to suffer from its biggest problem of all; Inconsistence. I’d go into more detail, but I’ll save it for another time.
To judge others by your own standard is the height of folly.

AoT back when it first came out but I wasn't really an anime fan then, I just knew it was the popular thing at the time so I gave it a shot and I loved it. The first anime I'd say that I watched as someone who was trying to get into anime was, like most, SAO. I liked it at first and didn't understand the hate it got but now having watched a lot of anime since then a year ago, i can understand the hate and why people think it's garbage, even if i don't hate it myself, not that i like it anymore either.

Inazuma Eleven. Although it has a weak start (even as a kid I was pretty bored with the first arc), the show keeps getting better, and the conclusion is just amazing. Definitely a great show

Pretty sure the first anime I watched was Akira, which I saw at a party in college and made absolutely no sense to me at all. But the first anime I got into on my own was Cowboy Bebop back when it was on Adult Swim.
