| I'm from Singapore and when they said "Chicken rice is the national dish of Singapore" my first thought was "I'm lowkey happy that they acknowledge that chicken rice belongs to Singapore, and not, ahem, another country." xD But it's ok, as long as it tastes nice, I'm all for it. Also, it's the first time I've heard that Singapore is known as a 'star country'. And 'Marina'... someone in the production team must have visited Marina Bay Sands. Looking forward to the movie! ^^ |

| Being from Singapore I was so happy to see all the references they made! Chicken rice being one of the most famous food here, "Marina" i.e. Marina Bay Sands, and the completely red truck with stars on it which I think should be a reference to our national flag. Which is why when they started talking about star-gazing I was so confused but in the end Satou's reasoning confused me even more - like the other forum user up there, I've never heard of Singapore being referred to as "star country" before. I was so sure it was referencing the flag instead since there were exactly 5 small stars printed on the sides of the truck. |
