| Is it common to get severe tendonitis at 16 for a pianist? |
| Sorry to answer a year after you posted this, however, I just saw this. Anyway, I wanted to tell you what I know: Playing a musical instrument is like playing a sport. Anyone who uses (and over uses- which she seems to have done, from what I can tell by her statements about all of her attempts to meet Kai in competition) a part of the body more than what THAT body (I said "that body" like that, because everyone is made differently. Some can take more use than others) is made to tollerate, can be injured. Tendonitis is an inflammation of the tendons, and it is the most common repetitive use injury. Age nor gender play a part in it. It can happen to athletes and musicians as well as dancers and visual artist. It just depends on what the individual's body can take and how hard they work the body part. Carpal tunnel syndrome, arthritis, ligaments, torn tendons and so on, can all occur, as well as tendonitis. I don't know if answering this was ok, or not. Sometimes when I respond to questions like this, that are more than even 3 or 4 months old, I get insulted and mocked for answering... Anyway, I hope it was ok, and that it helped a bit. |

| Thanks for answering! Of course I know what tendonitis is, I get it in my knees from time to time from running. However I'm 40+, not 16! |
