Watched this today.

Continues with the last film, Gellert cons ppl to join his side, the whiny emo kid is now revealed to be Albus's brother. Like they just added a 4th sibling out of rowlings ass.

And were gelert and albus a couple? the jokes were better this time around, the developments more intersting and some imp main char like Leta actually died.

nut this feels like an episode more than a complete movie....

and no fight scene though, the blue flame dragon vs flamels regular fire subduing it was kinda anticlimactic.

2 stars out of 5. I think there were too many subplots in this one, and this is coming from someone who called herself a potterhead half her life.

- They introduced an interesting and complex character who is also a woc and kills her off in the same movie

- The hype around Nagini was pointless

- Credence's real identity felt like something you would see in fanfiction

- McGonagall was born in 1935 so I don't know what she's doing here. The fanservice was uncalled for but if it makes people happy... -.-

CoG actually felt like an episode.

Already shared my criticisms in this thread, but I'll elaborate here.

- The camerawork was atrocious, especially during the initial parts of the film. There were so many close-ups during the moment in the ministry with Newt and Leta that it got annoying fast. Not sure if it's just a thing with British movies, but I don't recall the Harry Potter films having this problem.

- Pacing was messy overall. The transitions between the scenes felt disjointed, so it's easy to get lost on the story.

- Nagini reveal was cool albeit pointless since it lead to nothing. Simply mere fanservice.

- The big revelation before the rally with Grinderwald was easily the weakest part of the film. Too many plot twists crammed into a scene that went on forever. The buildup towards Credence's identity was hurt because of this.

Tl;dr I thought the movie was below average. Filled with too many flaws.
