When the Last remaining demon lord, Satan himself, set out to create a home for those who had spent most of eternity in a fiery hell; he wanted something familiar. And so he and a rather sizable horde of Hellborne established the city of Maladam' Tor. Or as commonly called, New Dis.

At first it was an inner city and an outer city. The inner city were for demons of some worth. Wealth, infamy, power, or simply age. The outer city for those whom did not earn Hells prestige. As a new generation was born, a social ranking began to form. The demons refused to call the children of fire and earth by the title Demon. And so they came to be called Infernals. First generation Infernals were to live in the third circle. Second generation were to live in the fourth and so on. Anything past the ninth circle was considered too impure to own residence in Dis.

The City of Dis is large and circular with a wall between each circle. A large tower exists on ten mile intervals. His palace in the center with a spire for the Shadow he employs, the blind Seer Knimaris. The dark metal constructs of Knimaris, his "eyes" survey the city, observing it as three things. Surveillance, police, and home defense. If Knimaris caught you committing treason(any crime whatsoever) you were executed on the spot. Thankfully they don't have too many laws.

The bottom of the city is actually thirty miles below the ground outside the city, as large black towers hold thousands upon thousands of residents each. They teach from thirty miles below, to a hundred feet about ground level. Humans are treated as inferior here, and cannot truly roam the streets safely. But even so, the doors are open to anyone. With a disclaimer "You are beyond your control here."

Celcei

Celcei walked into New Dis shivering, but otherwise seemingly normal. Heartseeker hid her face, however beneath the helm lay a mixture of wrath and hysteria. Cel continued walking, further and further into the city until she reached the seventh circle. There she leaned on the side of a nearby building, listening and silently observing the passerby.

She scanned for someone or something strong, extremely strong.

Many of the creatures here looked at you hatefully. Others enviously. And others perversely. One of the spherical machines that fly around this place stops, its red glowing dot focuses on you. Curiously looking at you. The Infernals here were all part demon, but nome of them were strong in your eyes. You would have to go further in.

Cel moved further and further inwards, mumbling to herself and keeping to the side of the streets. She didn't know where she was. The creatures around her seemed similar to Titans, giving a false justification for her immense feeling of bloodlust. Cel looked around again. Stronger, they had to be more powerful.

You were in the first circle of New Dis. The demons here are of the first class. Their clothes, bodies, and power were top rate. The only stronger ones are those living in the big tower and the palace. The two key structures in Dis. The streets here weren’t nearly as active as elsewhere, but you would still walk past a few demons of high rank.

Cel began her crusade once she had pieced together the words for it from watching passerby, asking any powerful demon she could find to train her (removing heartseeker to speak and then reenabling it upon finishing). She searched and searched until any entity would give her the time of day.

The very first demon she spoke tolooked at her like she was diseased, and walked away without even speaking. The second was embroidered with jewels, and asked for her payment. But once it realized she didnt speak the common tongue, it gave up and left. The third got very angry at the gall it took to ask someone of his stature amd might to train them. Swearing at her in a language she didnt understand. He kicked her in the gut, hard.Sending her realing into a wall. It was yelling s it then gabbed her and threw her on the ground. Placing a foot on her chest. It was interupted by ome of the sphere come to investigate. It puased as they stared at eachother for a moment. The drone didnt go away, so the demon walked off. The next demon was kind enoughto even hear you out, butonceit realizedyoudidnt have any possessionsto take, it walked away. One demon, finally asked a question, “Why should I?” And waited patiently for an answer. You felt like you were in danger.

Celcei kneeled and pointed to herself using the words she had collected,

“Train me, powerful. My soul, yours when I die. My service, as servant, as soldier: yours if need.”

Enlisting herself to a demon was dangerous, but continuing aimlessly would lead Cel to pure madness and without having completed her oath of destruction.

The creature looked down on Cel. It pickee her up with a hand and placed a claw on her collar bones. You felt it touch sokething inside of you, and then drop you. “Your soul is not that interesting... But your servitude... Ill train you... But you will serve me every day of your life. Obey me unquestionably. Are these acceptable terms?” The demon couod sense she was immortal the moment it looked inside her. It raised the bar as high as it could go.

An eternity was a long time to serve, however Cel could taste it on the tip of her tongue. A craving for strength similar to her brothers’, however not wishing for dominance, but for blood. Celcei bowed, stating:

“I grow power, my loyalty yours. What call you, master?”

The demon grinned, a new slave of its own. “I am Baal. Once we begin, I will own you, forever. This is not a deal you can back out of without dire consequences. Do you surrender yourself to me?” The being made absolute certain the deal was understood. Amd once he had finished talking, he summoned a tablet engraved with many runes, to float before her. “Seal the contract, by surrendering your name to me. Speak it to the contract.”

“I do not like to be wrong, about anything. The first order of business is your education about the world. Your words would tell anyone you are from off world. You will learn the common speak.” A new slate appeared, amd if she spoke her name, the runes on it would vanish, and a thousand glowing runes would glide across your skin, searing the contract into your very flesh. A ring of skin on your neck turned to obsidian, and Baal produced a small red jewel. He turned your head up snd socketed the jewel into your new collar.

“I have business with Amaymon... You will come.” Now that you were his property, you could see through his illusion. The large masculine figure you saw before was gone, and in its place was a small lean figure with tiny horns and sharp claws. Almost your height. His voice also seemed different. But even so, you could not tell if the other demons gave him wide berth due to his false appearance or because of his might.

Celcei’s half smile submitted to a serious expression and she bowed, “Yes, master.”

She found a comfortable place again, under the command of someone to follow while gaining in her own strength. Much like the military environment in which she was accustomed to. Celcei reformed Heartseeker, to see her new commander’s appearance, and to hide her grin which had grown to reach the other side of her mouth. The nerves in her lower jaw had finally recovered.

The building you traveled to was surprisingly small considering how most of the buildings in the first circle are so grandiose. It was a small stome building that looked eerily like a crypt. But when the door opened, the room seemed bigger. This turned outt not to be the case, because each step seemed to clver twenty times the distance. The devil on the reclining chair was grotesquely thin. He had no fat nor muscle, just bone and sagging skin. His arms and legs each were roughly four feet long, with nails driven through his ankles and wrists. Thorns wrap around his legs and arms, and his his are faded into his head, like they were painted on a long time ago.his dry cracked lips barely moving as he speaks.

Baal conversed with Amaymon in a language you didnt understand, and then Baal seemed to get irritated. Eventually he brushes it off and recieves three massive crates. He glances at you. “Try to pick one up.” This was a test. And you would inevitably fail. The crate made of obsidian weighed more than Baal did. He took note and decided to carry them with psycho kinesis. “We return back to my property here in the city. Where you will be given a name suited for one of the fallen. We shall also test your power.”

Celcei bowed and followed Baal towards his property, wondering what a fallen was and ultimately not caring. Her armor made a clanking sound against the floor as she followed, and Heartseeker gave off more static against the fiery landscape. Along the way she practiced the local language, slowly learning how to speak the dialect of demons and humans alike.

The Common tongue was a simple one, and a convienent tongue. Celcei was able to pick some up quite quickly. Taking from context to try and extend her vocabulary. Despite being slow, it was quite impressive. However, as you tried to learn how the demons speak formally, she would find that the structure of each sentence was completely unintuitive. There were no real patterns, and each sentence seemed to be structured differently from the last. Each word carried no meaning for Celcei, and so, despite how hard she tried to fathom their native speak, she couldnt grasp even for threads on the language. Whilst demons would normally speak in the common tongue, once again out of convenience, when being formal and offcial, and sometimes when puffing their chest, they use the other language. Its purpose remains unclear to her.

Baals property was massive. Once he pointed at it, she would see a massive rectangular structure. “This is the colosseum... where the infernals and devils alike fight for fame and fortune. It is mine. I will personally evaluate your physical power. And your education will begin afterwards. Once I know your power, I shall name you. Celcei shall become an alias to use in the public eye.”

They would find the entrance. A small altar with a spike on its pedestal. Baal would grab the back of your head and slam his spare hand down on the spike. Then without so much as a sound they were inside of a library. The library had an extensive collection of books. “Sharrac.” And out of a pillar of fire came a thin and lanky demon with feminine features. “Show my new servant the colosseum. Have her ready to fight me in one hour in the arena, i must gauge her skill for myself.” The demoness bowed, and you could hear a thousand distant screams as Baal opened up a portal and left through it.

The new creature that you were left with got very close. With heart seeker, you could see her blood was white hot. She opened her eyes wide and grinned a toothy smile as she encroached upon your personal space. “Aahhh... a newcomer. What are you...?” She sniffed the air around you deeply. And then grabbed your wrist. Licking the palm of your hand she seemed to come to a realization. She laughed hardily as she spoke. “Ah, I know what you are~ Its been a very long time since i was on Verillia. Tell me, did it crash into its moon yet or is this world behind on its time tables?” She sniffed you again. “Nevermind, I already have answer~” She backed off finally and cackled. “Youmust have been desperately needy or desperately insane to sell yourself to Baal, but alas, it is my duty to show you around the colosseum and the mountain manor, i take it you have nothing more important to do at the moment?”

Celcei looked at the creature and assessed it's physical characteristics, assuming it to possibly have lived for a century, maybe much more. Offworlders were about as common as red snow on Virillia, extremely rare and always quick to disappear, especially during the past era of Deathless rule. As she followed the creature throughout the estate, Celcei asked the being:

"You have seen Virillia before the catastrophe? My father is an ancient, however he never told me anything from the past. Nonetheless, I am here now of my own will. To serve and grow strong so that I may one day reclaim Virillia from the Lords and their armies, even if that means giving the planet to Baal."

The creature confirmed that it had indeed seem it before the fall. “You see, travelling between worlds was very easy back when we could utilize Hellmouths. But now we are trapped in the physical plane, crossing the depths of space is not as simple. But, if you could find a way for him, Baal would march upon Virilia himself, and conquer it as his own. This city is much larger than it looks from the outside. Anyways, the appointed time is nearly upon is, do you need a weapon of any variety to fight? We stock a rudimentary armory below in the deep cells.”

Celcei thought for a moment, “I doubt I will be able to last long in a fight against Baal, however if the armory has these items then I will use them: A sabre (fencing), a leather whip, cloudens (equivalent to smoke grenades), twin katar daggers, and a claymore.”

Each weapon she was more or less familiar with, and she planned to use the same tactics she would use against any Deathless Lord. Nonetheless, Celcei witnessed sorceries of Baal, and against such power she still doubted it would be enough.

Sharrac nodded. “Wait here then.” It was only a moment before she returned with the Daggers, the Whip, and the claymore. They all seemed to be made out of this really warm metallic substance.Except the whip, which was black. “Areyou ready? The arena is this way.” She said as she led you out into a large open space. The ground was carved to resemblethe footing of walking on skulls. Baal was waiting. He seemed a little bigger. He had four arms amd two tails. “Your objective is to bring me to my knees. Understood? Begin.” Baal said this, not gving you a moment, and instead taunting you forward.

Celcei stuck the claymore into the ground tip first (or left it on the ground), and then held one of the Katar in her left hand while attaching the other to her side, the whip remained rolled up in her right. She first quickly scanned Baal after activating Heartseeker, looking for armored locations and then for openings around the legs and feet.

Cel kept her eyes on Baal and moved slowly towards the right, now attempting to determine his ability of balance. I shouldn't use my trump card to start, but I can't afford to prolong this battle. May I bring glory to Virillia. After looking for about twenty seconds, she began to hop and loosen up her legs for a couple seconds more. Suddenly, she leapt forwards into whipping range and swung the whip to wrap around/slash the back of Baal's knee. As the whip lashed, Cel used Kitsune to increase the attack's effectiveness, and to cut through any interference.

Upon making this first strike (whether effective or not) Celcei would attempt to leap backwards to her second Katar, and equip both in either hand.

Baals posture was strangely amateur. he didnt seem to concerned with defense nor was he attacking. One might think him cocky. but this was an assessment. He wanted to see how she attacked. And when she did attack he was pleasantly surprised. He had instructed her to bring him to his knees. and so she targeted his leg. Quite the smart one. not only that, but she targeted the place directly behind the knee where his legs were connected. this was a key weakpoint in all armors because of the joints. Then she used a power. the whip burned bluie and managed to cut the skin. White hot liquid dripped from the wound she had made. Creating a high pitched scream as it rapidly cooled against the stone ground.

"Ah, interesting. So that is your fighting style. I believe a rapier would suit you better than the Brawlers Dagger. Katar are meant to strike like a fist not a needle... I shall now begin to fight back. I will fight you in this, the weakest of my battle forms. I will not stop until you are no longer capable of fighting back. Now here i come..."

Baal placed one foot forward and tensed his hands until you could hear every bone in his arms pop. And like the starting shot in a horse race, Baal seemed to launch off with the sound as a prelude. He got closer in an instant and slammed his left pair of arms down onto the ground. This was not to attack. this was to generate an extra thrust mid leap. With said force he lurched across the battlefield and spun around. the Spines on his tails fanning out as he swings them at you. One to slash you underneath your breast, and the other to cut open your gut. With such speed and strength, total evasion was not possible. And there was limited time to react.

Celcei let her legs crumple with deadweight, twisting on her heels. By having gravity pull her down as she held the Katars in a diagonal position towards her left shoulder, she did not block the tails with her knives but instead let them run their course of motion, albeit now into her shoulder and upper left armored plates.

In turn, (if all went mildly well) Cel took the opportunity to absorb the blow to her left carbon breast/shoulder plates (and or flesh) to spin herself leftwards. Using the force from Baal, she spun a full 720*, balancing herself by twisting on her knees and ankles (similar in appearance to switching directions while in a kneeling stance). Once she had finished spinning, Cel leapt forward once again (if her left arm still functioned she would swipe the left Katar upwards to slash at the tails that hit her. If not, Cel would retrieve the second with her right hand). This time Celcei dashed towards Baal and threw one of her Katars directly towards Baal's face upon closing her distance to him (aimed specifically at the eyes), equipping the other Katar securely around her right hand as she would attempt to slide through the gap between his legs (or to the side (dependant on stance)).

If she reached the other side, Cel would spin around again into a kneeling stance, slicing the back of the previously wounded knee and hopping back away from Baal once more.

Celcei would rediect the damage to her left side with moderate success. Baals spined tails cut her armor plates three millimeters deep, and left her left arm bleeding.

Status Effect Bleeding applied to Celcei

She had counter attacked shortly afterwards, attacking his tails. Her upwards slash was suddenly caught by the spines in its tails, and with a sudden twist, the Katar in her left hand was disarmed. She then threw the next Katar whilst dashing at him. He arched his back backwards and tilted his head back to evade it as he withdrew his tails back. Only to find her sliding under his legs on his way back up.

A bad move, as she soon found out. His two tails quickly swept in, pincer formation down to her sides. There was no avoiding this. The two tails crashed into her at the same time on both sides, knocking the breath out of her in an instant. The tremendous force used would send her reeling, and Baal used this opportunity to deliver a strike to her center chest. The force of this would knock her back a few feet. The strength put into both of these attacks was likely enough to shatter a boulder. even so, these motions seemed almost effortless for Baal.

Celcei crawled into a clumsy walk from the floor, slowly moving towards the claymore. This battle is already over. Such power is only presumable even in his weakest form. It’s pointless. Despite her thoughts, Cel moved forward toward her blade.

Once (if) she reached the claymore she stabilized herself on its hilt and looked towards Baal. Then hoisting the blade hilt up, Cel held the sword so that the end of the blade dragged against the floor to her right. She swayed forwards, a mixture of pain and dizzyness ailed her, and her stance was clumsy. (If) She reached the same spacing from where she lashed her whip and mustered up her last bit of strength.

Cel became still, and then dashed forwards. When in range she swung the claymore with all of her strength at Baal’s ankles. With intent to cut through not just one but both of his feet off, Cel used Kitsune once more.

Baal did admire the persistence. Even if it was in vain. Baal jumped up in response to her swing. Allowing her the honor of clipping the edge of his claws. After all, Sharrac was an excellent housekeeper, but she couldnt fix the scraatches they left in the ground. He spun in the air, and his two tails hit her from behind. Not in the mood to torment the girl further, Baal called it as she fell to the ground.

"I understand all I need to. Sharrac!" That very same demoness appeared from fire. "Take this one and mend her up. I doubt she broke more than a few ribs. Also, summon Thraxx to the Arena, I need to actually fight something." Sharrac bowed acknowledgingly, and you could see Baal change shape. He was bigger, brawnier. His body seemed to grow armor on its shoulders and upon its loincloth. Large leathery wings appeared and his impish face changed to one resembling a gargoyle. You could see the white hot glow of its inner fire between each of its teeth. Sharrac opened up a small gate and dragged you through it. After a moment of Vertigo, you found yourself atop one of the least comfortable medical tables you have ever felt. It was made of searing coals, and you were probably recieving third degree burns on your back. But that was nothing in comparison to the sensation of your bones snapping back into place inside of you as Sharrac healed your injuries. Instead of mending the flesh where you were cut, she just cauterized it with fire. She was certainly not a doctor. But after ten minutes of what could have been a form of torture anywhere else in the world, you could feel as if you were healed. Minus the soreness of the whole procedure. "How many hits did he get on you? How many did you get on him?" Sharrac inquired impishly.

Celcei

Celcei read for many hours, eventually feeling she had the hang of the grammatical structures and context. She notified Sharrac once she had completed the task: "It has been long, but I believe I should at least be able to grasp basic wording."

"Good. Then Ill give you a task to prove it to me." She would take another sheet, blood and quill, and limestone, and pass them to you. "In as many words as you can muster, summarize your time here. That should suffice for basic learning."

Celcei began to write, covering everything she could remember from her sudden arrival while blind to her enlisting with Baal. Her brother’s name was only mentioned twice and her time in the ruined area was also skipped over subconciously, as though she didn’t remember the exact details nor her thoughts from the time she spent there. She wrote with the grammar and vocabulary of a 12 year old child, but it would suffice for communication.

She looked at Charc's writings and nodded. "I have learned about you, as well as my achievement. Ill leave a mound of flesh for you to write on whenever you have time to practive. There is a knife and a quill for you to get "ink" for now, I will call Baal. By pilling down the collar of her shirt, she revealed a similar red jewel to your own, surrounded by a black stone scaling on her chest. She gently placed a finger on the Bloodstone, and it shimmered red. She let it go and her shirt sprung back up. A claw tore open a portal, as Baal in what looks like a heavier, armored form stepped out. The armor and his extra height burned away as he switched back into his much more pathetic looking form. "Lord Baal, she can read, write, and speak semi-fluently." Baal nodded. He stabbed you under the ear with a short claw. it didnt do much but sting. The wound burned shut immediately afterwards, and Baal tasted the blood off his claw. "Hmm... Get some sleep. Sharrac will fight you when you awaken."

Cel slept and once she felt ready she prepared herself to fight Sharrac. She went up and asked for the conditions of the duel, then if everything was the same as with fighting Baal, Cel would request several whips and three shields. Two of the shields were requested to be light forearm shields while the third was to be of ordinary size.

"In this battle, your objective is to render your opposition unable to fight any longer. Mortal wounds are forbidden." Baal laid out the rules as the armorer, a short demon, gave you you requested weapons. Baal left as your entered the arena. Sharrac was wearing a set of lightweight armor, and had a set of twin Rapiers. The moment that the bell sounded, Sharrac dashed forwards, running at you with superior speed. Her first move was to try and stab your right shoulder with a single thrust. The rapier was best suited for this type of maneuver. If successful, she would have dug it deep into Cel's shoulder and let go. Sliding past her. If Cel had put up a solid defense, Sharrac would try and jump over Cel, to land behind her and swipe upwards.

Cel equipped the two forearm shields on either arm, placing the larger shield slung loosely on her left shoulder. In her right hand she equipped a rolled up whip, the others were also rolled up and equipped on her waist. Heartseeker was also activated.

As Sharrac sped towards her Celcei became interested, Sharrac didn't underestimate her as Baal had and she seemed both quick and dexterous. It would prove difficult to land a hit. Celcei assumed that the first strike would be one of a series considering Sharrac had two rapiers. Cel was prepared however, in fact rapiers were quite possibly the ideal weapon type to go up against with her shields.

She held up her forearm shield to make contact with Sharrac's first strike, letting the blade glide across the shield and moving it so that the rapier would be redirected towards the open space right of her shoulder. The movement was fluid, and Cel kept her eyes locked on Sharrac's while using her peripherals to watch the second rapier. Sharrac made her jump, a style which was exotic in Cel's experience which forced her to turn to her left.

Sharrac swiped upwards into Cel's left plates, right below the larger shield and into the armor. Although an upwards thrust most likely would have pierced the armor below her shield and cut into more vital systems, the swipe cut the armor but was not enough to reach deep into Cel, resulting in a clean cut along Cel's side right below her arm.

As Sharrac swiped her blade into Cel, Celcei slung the larger shield down into her left hand as she threw a punch towards Sharrac. The shield, reaching her hand before making contact with Sharrac, was aimed to slam into Sharrac's face (in attempt to either knock Sharrac out or bat her away).

Charc was quick to react, a good trait, and bashed Sharrac with her shield. Sharrac, not oone to waste a potentially good thing, used the backwards momentum from her own reeling to get a distance from Charc. Once the distance was made, Sharrac would deeply inhale, and then let out a forceful scream charged with Xera. The scream resonated with you, and gave you a strong headache, to dull your focus for a few moments.

Perception Down 2 Ranks for 2 Posts

Her own head hurting, but hopefully not to Charc's extent, she dashes forward again, and delivered a single strike to Charcs shield to fake her out while she spun to Charcs left and tried again to stab her in the shoulder. Sharracs expression seemed to become more and more maniacal. She was having plenty of fun it seemed. Her grey jagged teeth were even showing.

Cel could not hear the scream, however the Xeraphic burst was enough to wipe her Heartseeker into static. All she could see was a screen of black and white specs dancing across her visuals. She stood, stunned for a bit out of shock and then clumsily dropping her shoulders with her held tilted upwards.

Sharrac's first strike to one of Cel's shields was met with a limp response, and Celcei's arm flung back. Sharrac then spun and stabbed into Charc's left shoulder, the blade piercing up through the armor and into flesh. As the rapier's tip exited Cel's shoulder it suddenly was trapped, and if Sharrac looked up to see what had trapped it, she would witness Cel's hand gripping around the middle of the rapier as it suddenly burst into a bright blue light, searing/cutting Sharrac's hand.

The blue glow lasted only for a moment (if it ended up cutting into anything), and the rapier melted into nothingness. Cel brought her right hand whip to slash at where she believed Sharrac to be (if Sharrac was still near Cel), and then readjusted her left larger shield back up onto her left shoulder to cover her wound as she assumed a new backwards leaning stance.
