Well there's still have a chance for having the movie play on other country since 7Arcs did that with Reflection before, so there's no way they won't gonna do the same with Detonation too. |

He wasn't half wrong tho since most of Nanoha fans literally just dropped the franchise after watched Reflection and Detonation, due to how awful the movies is and it has a lot of plot holes/rectons in the story. If not because of nostalgia both movies will gonna flopped even more harder than current receptions. Literally the only fans who defends the latest movies are the shills who thought the latest movies are flawless and people who is new to this series. I myself will also drop this series after I watched Detonation and will never touch it again afterward. |

From my experience, all fans want to see the story where Nanoha was strike down. (Showed in one of the flash back of Strikers) We want to see the moment Nanoha's body finally failed her after the abuse she put her body through time after time. It's the missing bridge between A's and Strikers which change Nanoha from a reckless kid to a careful leader. Also the fact that Nanoha and Fate were substantially weaken in these movies rubbed many fans the wrong way. I myself was really confused when I first watched Reflection... Constantly wondering to myself "Why the heck are they so weak all of a sudden?!" Nanoha's heroic showing and quotes are the only saving graces for the movies. EDIT: Also, Hayate's kansai dialect is severely lacking, what were the production team thinking! |

But anyway Detonation will "features" Nanoha's incident that some of you guys has been waiting for (And it also have the exact same quote as in StrikerS manga), despite the fact Tsuzuki confirmed that incident will not be features in latest movies. I'm more upset at ToNS's recton and how badly some characters (Especially Yagami family) was handled in the new movies. They even ruined the Materials so hard that I prefer their PSP counterpart over the new movies. Anyway take this with a gain of salts because according to a formal 7Arcs animator: The story of Reflection and Detonation are basically movie version of Force with some story changes and combined Nanoha PSPs stories into one. All of the bulls**t Ref&Det shown were originally gonna uses on Force, but because the original production team (Which has been working on Nanoha franchise even since the first series) leave the studio after some backlash happened between them, Tsuzuki and the studio itself, Tsuzuki have no choice but "cancelled" Force manga and brought it's elements into the new movies as he ran out of ideas. |

Couldn't they watch it on any video sites like NicoNico and YouTube instead? I understand the hardcore fans are willing to buy and watch anything related to their idols, but that logic simply can't apply here because those BDs/DVDs are more related to the movie sequel of a fiction story written by some anime writer than VA themselves. Yes the VAs do voice acting for the series, but why would the fans willing to buy these when it could works better for buying VAs' song albums like Nana's NEVER SURRENDER song album, to gives their supports for their idols instead? In fact, most of the fans who buys Nanoha BDs/DVDs are the fans of it's series rather than the fans of whoever their idols was. ame77 said: i m talking about real marketing terms not about why fans like about plots etc Again, you need to explains more clearly next time if you don't want people misunderstood your comments. |

OK, that means that there are actually people who are fans of both the seiyu involved and Nanoha as a series. This, i can understand. The first 3 series were more than just great. And Japanese seyiu can do things only them are capable of. Most anime are unwatchable for me if not watched in japanese. But now, you're stating that there are actual people who will crack money to buy a crappy DVD, because even though it's utter crap, they can recognize the voice of a voice actor they like. Ok... Is it not some kind of fetichism or devious obsesional behavior? Are you Japanese maybe? I fail to see how anyone who is not japanese would be able to think that way. Well, maybe there are exceptions? Before today i couldn't think it was likely. Well, i don't mean to be insulting actually. Promise. It is just that as far as i understand things, i believe that japanese people can be pretty extreme when it comes to derived products. I, for one, would consider having goods like this as an hindrance. Because it needs storage, it takes room, and i would never use it anyway. You will never find a manga at my place, and i hardly own any DVD (the only DVD i own are actual movies). So yeah, the very fact that some people could buy a DVD for such a reason is far, far beyond me. Good luck. Obviously buying it because one think it's like really good as a movie is a perfect valid reason though. But that's not what i was talking about here. On a personal note, i was waiting for an adaptation of Force. I never read the manga. But i always felt that Nanoha's tone and universe had potential for many more good stories. Vivid is not really interesting. I don't care about the manga about Subaru, either. I fell in love with Nanoha because of Nanoha, the progressive worldbuilding of the universe, and the many darker undertone behind the whole series. I should mention the pacing too, which take good care of the ambiance and the characters, and how the action scenes felt logical and organic, rather than showing over the top moves that no normal personal could do and trying to stick explosion and sayian mode in ya face. All in all, the take on the magical girl style was definitely worth gold. And the way the characters fight like humans with magical powers would helped a great deal making the characters more human and relatable. I still believe the magical fights in the first 2 seasons were the best fights i have ever seen in anime. Learning that not only Force was cancelled, but that the little they used of it for actual animation was used this way pains me a lot. While reading the other thread, i see a few liked the movies. Although, what i read about them is really not engaging to me. I'm not looking for an action shounen. Japanese animation, as full of potential it may be, it's always plagued by the same crap, year after year. And it does not get better as time goes. Thankfully, we still have series like "Carole and Tuesday" coming out. But they are far in between. |
