Glowing recommendation for the english dub

I figured I should post this thread. The english dub is far better for this show.

Having first seen the sub, I eventually re-watched it dubbed. The dub is FAR better than the sub. The crucial difference is that the dub is hilarious compared to the sub. I don't know why the comedy works better dubbed, but it works far better

I'd score the sub a 2/10 and the dub a 10/10.

EDIT: This is obviously directed at native english speakers. Although my score for the sub would remain the same in your case. I'm not sure how the english dub would be for you, but there's no guarantee your experience would be the same as mine.

EDIT 2: OPINION RETRACTED. After watching a lot more subbed anime, watching some clips from the sub, and realising Juliet Simmons has the main role in the dub. I have come to the conclusion that the dub is in fact horrible.

You mean the English dub?

English never was a good language to my ears so it's never an option here, so I'll skip this recommendation. Good for you tho you found a 10/10 anime.

Well, obviously this was directed at native english speakers.

It actually feels really strange when non-english speakers reply to threads like this

Giving a sub that low score? Oh, man. As for dub, can't say anything about the dub since i haven't watched it dubbed (and probably won't).

I'd recommend against watching the dub. It's terrible.

I'd say the voices chosen for the dub were awful. That's not to say the voices themselves were awful - they just did not match with the characters. Unfortunately the English dub cast is still quite small and the pool of actors to choose from is too small. Even in 2019, English voice actors still also have trouble letting loose, emoting, and being all weird with their role. They can sound too reserved in their presentation, and a lot of comedy anime revolves around delivery. The dub for this series in particular felt really flat, and the sub excelled in its delivery.

I thought the English dub was good.

I understand that many people prefer subs in general, no matter the show. But I don't understand how anyone could say this dub was "awful". There are some truly terrible dubs out there. This isn't close to being one of them, though. At all.
