If this January (December) edition of Sunday Monthly Gene-X is anything to go by, it seems that Studio Troyca is interested in, and potentially planning, a second season of Re:Creators.

Wow, after dragging it out as long as they did, it still didn't finish after 22 episodes? I'd say it's pathetic, but what's truly pathetic are the other animes that are even shittier. RIP Spring 2017.

I checked out the online version of the magazine. At least one part of the front cover has to do with the latest chapter of the manga, which covers, literally scene for scene, the first part of Re:Creators episode 5. Some part of it also appears to be products promotion, but since I can't read the language, there's still too many unknowns.

Got an answer from another website.

translator said that it was speaking about the second volume of the manga, not a second season, sadly.

So this is a false alarm.

To my knowledge, Hiroe Rei and Studio Troyca have said that a second season would depend on subscriptions to Amazon's Anime Strike service as well as BD sales. In particular, sales of the latter don't appear to have been very strong.

I never heard about the Anime Strike deal. I'm not sure if they have done their part if they are that involved. Budget for a show like this or a continuation is nothing for Sony though.

i had the anime for a long time on hold and finally decided to finish it today...
1st thing i thought was "every anime inside re:creators is getting a sequel, can we also get one, pretty please?" =D

while i think the chance of a full anime is really low, we can always hope for some ovas or something... this show deserves at least an ova showing them back in their worlds... but that's just my opinion.

I wouldn't like a Sequel but more of a Meteora Spinoff.
If my memory doesn't fail me, Meteora Stayed at the human world to become a creator. Maybe we could see her Making Her own game, Manga or Light Novel. It would be a Nice SOL Comedy Show IMO

And what about Magane? As far as we know, she's still out there, somewhere, with her powers perhaps intact to some degree. There could be an entire sequel made out of that loose end alone.

Doesn't really need a season 2 to be honest. The ending felt definitive, adding on to the story would just feel forced tbh.

Magane has her own spin-off manga afaik

Magane has her own spin-off manga afaik



She does/did, but IIRC it takes place in her own universe, not Souta's world.
