It really is scripted letter-by-letter via multiple substr pulls, but you are right in that the 45 degree angle is the key to making it easier. There is a mathematical progression in how the letter coordinates will be positioned (i.e., certain letters will share the same x-coordinate, while some will share the same y-coordinate), with maybe a single-pixel-adjustment here and there because it's not a perfect 45-degree angle, caused by the fact that I chose to recreate and reorient the entire checkerboard pattern by eye from the source image. Dealing with that was, for me, much harder than letter placement.I'll let you in on a little secret, it's not done one letter at a time. Probably just a couple of for loops and some placement tricks. The key is in the °45 angle. Any other angle and this would've been a lot messier. |

Wow, I'd rather kill myself trying to for it, some massive patience you have then ^^ I was kinda thinking it wasn't a perfect 45° angle, my eyes were telling me there was some very minor skewing going on but I chose to ignore it. Good eyes, I guess. You should "invest" in AutoCad or another CAD program, that's how I draw everything if I need perfect lines or squares. I line everything up, rotate, then screenshot and import into PS. The play button in my sig, along with the stop and pause buttons, when used, are done like that. Massive overkill but whatever. Edit: What I was thinking with the 45° angle was just adding the same amount of pixels to the x and y values for each new letter, with one loop for each line in your sig. Explode the title, divide and conquer. Your way works quite well though. |
