Who should I cosplay as?

So, I really want to cosplay as Nonon Jakuzure from Kill la Kill. Her outfit is really cool, the only problem is the giant hat, and I either have to make one or buy it. The ones online are expensive and my cosplay/crafting skills are... substandard at the least. On the other hand, I have basically all the clothes and accessories for Mirai Kuriyama, but I really didn't like Kyoukai no Kanata, nor her character. Should I just cosplay as her to be cheap, or do the expensive cosplay?

I wouldn't recommend cosplaying as someone you don't want to cosplay as. That kinda defeats the purpose of it

maybe Jakuzure in normal clothes, I'm sure she has scenes without the marching outfit

Second - sometimes she wears lesser hats which easier to make.

If you have enough time and material then go for the more elaborate jakuzure cosplay or go for one of her other simpler outfits.
