Can someone please recommend me a manga for challnge #21?

21.- Read a manga published between the 1980s and the 1990s

The genre doesn't matter as long as it is nothing too shoujo-ish and the art is great!
Also no more than 60 chapter long please

Is it alright to use manhwa/manhuas for manga challenges? I'm doing prodigious genius and the manhwa I'm reading is Carnivorous Princess Yegrinna.

Also, suggestions for a manga to read please. Thanks!

I'll refer to the FAQ, question 6 :
"Can I use manhua/manwha/oneshots instead of serialized manga for regular items too?" -- Yes, you can.
So Princess Yegrinna should be fine both length- and genrewise.

As for a recommendation, something like Liar Game (since you liked Death Note) or Fullmetal Alchemist (different from the first adaptation you've seen). Ito Junji Collection is also a good introduction to Junji Ito, or you could try another, equally original horror Fuan no Tane. And Kimi no Knife, Monster and Boku dake ga Inai Machi are all popular mystery reads.

(I'll just leave a cute shoujo, Tomodachi no Hanashi for good measure)

For #33, Main character is a child (12 and under). Would it count if the manga that has the main character start young but ages to adulthood throughout the series?

Guys, I need suggestions on these three!
I have a preference for shorter manga, with 5/6 volumes (unless it's a more precious recommendation, hahaha).
I love seinen, shonen, josei, mystery, supernatural, slice of life...
If you can leave several options in one of these categories I would greatly appreciate it. <3

06. Read a gekiga manga
44. Read a manga that deals with something related to Japanese culture
31. Read a manga that has inspired or been adapted to cd drama

What's more, absolutely no romance :
Banana Fish
Baptism
R is for Rocket
(ordered by their length)

They're all pretty good, and if the second one is tagged as "seinen" and the third as "josei" on MAL, they're all shōjo. (respectively serialized in ''Sho-Comi'' and ''Margaret'')

I'm doing the challenge alternately (i.e. as a separate, personal challenge) along with the official one and there's this challenge: "Read a manga that was adapted from a game, original anime or light novel". So I just want to ask, can the adapted manga be a spin-off? For example, would Code Geass: Shikkoku no Renya count? It's not directly adapted from Hangyaku no Lelouch the anime, but is listed as a sequel to Hangyaku no Lelouch the manga.

@yhunata Hmm, no. It wouldn't count precisely because although it's inspired by it, in a sense, since it's a sequel, it's not directly adapted from the original source.

#43: Eternal Sabbath (scientist), Monster (doctors & detectives)
#44: Ghost Hunt (japanese.... well, ghosts, Buddhist monks, Shinto priestess, etc.), Gugure Kokkuri-san (yokai) or, if you're feeling really ambitious, InuYasha (more yokai)
#49: Samon the Summoner, Mahoutsukai no Yome

Well, maybe you can get some more recommendations elsewhere, I've tried to find the least shoujo on my list. =)

Hi!
I need help with #6: Read a manga recommended to you by another Manga Reading Challenge participant in the discussion thread
I want something complete... maybe something from Jump...
but it's ok something adventure/supernatural/shounen/other with around 100 chapters.
Here's my list: https://myanimelist.net/mangalist/yu6
Thanks in advance!

Also a question, for #44 (Read a manga that deals with something related to Japanese cultur) is it ok Inuyasha - about Yokai?

Go to http://tvtropes.org and click the "random trope' button that is in the top-right corner of the page. A certain trope will show up. Click on the "anime and manga" folder under "examples" and choose one manga from the ones listed. You are free to click the random button several times till you find a manga you want to read.

My guess is that it is just a fun way to choose a manga to read.
