recently i watch log horizon and i really like when shiroe make some strategy and accomplish his task it make me remember tokuchi toua from one outs(i know this anime is far to be said similar) but the thing make me like it was their strategy against their enemy. please rec me anime which has many scene or main plot like that.
i try watch several psychology and mystery anime but not all of that has aspect of great strategy. not detective or psychology anime but the mc has smart strategy or tactics. the popular one are death note(when kira vs L) and no game no life(it's in entire show).

code geass (only mecha anime I like. Mc gets the power to control people through eye contact, once per person) (2nd season has less strategy, but 1 of the greatest endings of anime history)

kaiji (mc is sometimes rly clever, most times not. still a very good psychological gambling anime) madhouse animated it

I would also go with fate zero (it is a battle royal, and it actually does not have an mc, but some of them are pretty clever. There is the assasine kiritsugu the fighting priest and many more, each have different tactics to win and its very mature)

Hmm i see what you mean , so I've checked my list :

Aldnoah Zero anime about mecha , the MC uses normal robots to fight against super strong robots and he wins due to his "strategy" (especially in the first season )

Angel Beats ? it's not really centered about one MC but a group of highschooler and if I recall correctly they do build strategy to accomplish their mission

Higashi no Eden , really recommend this one

Joker game is about spy from japan , and you see each spy doing their job and having own strategy to infiltrate or escaping from dangerous situation

Kami nomi zo Shiru Sekai , it's a bit different , it's more comedy , it's about a highschooler who plays eroge h24 that have to conquer girls from his school, it's not a serious content , but the way he gets his prey is incredible he use a lot of strategy for that , one of my big rec as well

Oda nobuna no Yabou, a young boy going in the past and uses his history knowledge to help the actual oda nobuna

Mirrai Nikki , people using phone that can see the future

Spice and wolf , mc who uses strategy / tricks for trading stuff ( talks about economy )

Un-go , anime about detective

Zankyou no Terror , anime about terrorist

Well that's all i could think of, it took me more then 30 minute for that !

Definitely Nejimaki Seirei Senki. Great art and genius MC, whose motto is "All heroes die of overwork" (basically he's lazy as f*ck).
Oda Nobuna no Yabou - MC uses his knowledge of the history to help Nobuna(ga), after he has been sent to the past
Gate - it kinda fits, MC plans military attacks on the enemy to end it as quickly as possible

Try the following anime (tho some are more on psychological and mystery type):

AJIN
Smart mc who will do anything for a peaceful life. This is CGI.

91 days
Mc who wants revenge. Kinda like code geass without the mecha stuff.

Yougo senki
Mc is a military tactician. Still ongoing.

Boku dake ga inai machi
Tho this is more detective stuff. But I think it's good.

Durarara
Multiple mc, three kings (which are friends at first) and their pawns.

Also try WORLD TRIGGER
This three mc are like shikimaru's team of naruto. Full of tactics and strategies to win and survive.

Tho no game no life is the best when it comes to intellectually mc, still try these animes

You can also try Arslan Senki. Though its not the main character who does all the strategies.

Alderamin on the Sky also has such an MC though he pales a bit compared to the MCs mentioned above
