Recently I've been thinking about something when it comes to Shin. As we all know Shin's ultimate goal is to become the best general in China, surpassing even the old generation. But can he really make his dream come true?

So far the best generals that were introduced in the manga would probably be: Renpa, Ouki, Riboku, Haku Ki and Gaku Ki. All of these are strategical generals except for Renpa who is kind of mixed type.

Now let's look at instinctual generals we know: Duke Hyou and Keisha. They are both very strong, but in my opinion not top tier.

There was also that moment after Kyou Kai left Hi Shin Unit to get her revenge where the unit didn't had any good strategist and they started to loose every single battle, because Shin couldn't come up with any decent plan. This shows how big role Kyou Kai and Karyo Ten play in Hi Shin Unit victories.

Overall, I think Shin in his prime will be kinda like stronger version of Duke Hyou with better fighting skills and amazing leadership, but I don't see him surpassing the best of the best like Renpa, unless he will develop some decent tactical skills.

You can read the original story to see how things turned out. Kingdom is based on actual historical events after all.

As for me, I'm afraid of spoilers.

If it could be, when I began to read Kingdom was the most likely.

Pretty much. He's a pseudo-disciple of the best generals.

According to chinese historians (wikipedia) the 4 greatest generals of the warring state era were

Riboku (Li mu)
Renpa (Lian po)
Ousen (Wang jian)
Hakuki (Bai qi, the one who buried 400 000 Zhao soldiers)

Now I have a solid theory as how Shin can stil become at some point the greatest general while still beeing not well know in history, but it involves BIG spoilers :

Finally, a plausible explanation for this. I have been agonizing over how much of a disappointment Shin would be when he gets his ass handed back in the Chu conquest and how it will make him look like a retard. But this is definitely the way to go, I love this and I hope it makes it into the manga. Thank you for this lol.
