Cross Game. It came out in 2009, but the artstyle makes it look like something out of the 80's.

both im a sucker for old battle anime though i actuay like how in older anime they had hevy use of shadows, and shows like kabaneri of the iron fortress went with a use of hevy shadowing to give it a bit of an edge in the look department even despite the show wasn't that great i quite liked the anime just cause of how it looked
also as per adaptions from older content like parsitre that took an 80's manga and kept the same feel while updating it is also good and even

Oh, it can be based off a older manga as well?

Well then add Hanasakeru Seishounen to my list, the anime has a refined newer style, but It's a 2009 anime based off of a 1987 manga.

Marmalade Boy is pretty old. Manga was 1989 and anime was adapted in 1999. Great romance - highly recommend it! (74 Episodes)

i may check it out though its 1994 not 1999 and even 1999 is an older anime, though its not like i have a problem with older anime, though i wanted a newer more fluid animation done in older style

also if a show can still stand the tides of anime liek it's animation isn't horrid that makes it alot eaiser to watch things like Initial D didn't relay stand the tides of time ( jsut using as an example)

yes, I did.

At only first look, I can select the following from my "unique" stuff:
Petshop of Horrors (manga from 1998), Patalliro! (manga from 1979), Kanashimi no Belladonna (movie from 1973), Calimero (anime from 1970s), Babrapappa (anime from the 70s again), Ashura (manga from the 70s again), marple and Poirot (obvious reasons), Doujouji (1976)
and more

All have their good and bad sides, but I would recommend them if you're looking for old setting or old animation style.

Clearly, numbers aren't everything. I have more in my list, which fall into this group. When I say I watch many, I mean I have a huge % of my seen which is in that pile.
