Whew, my religious bullshit radar was causing a full alert but that painting just reminded him of his home and that's all. I got the impression that religion is a big part of the original story so i'm glad that at least so far all that shit has been cut out.

Rottenmeier continues to be insufferable, picking on a child like that. But that painting was really painful to look at, even I felt like crying after looking at it. It captured so well all that she loves and is no longer within her reach that it was hard.

It was really good of Clara's grandmother to take them on a picnic, but it seems that Rottenmeier is going to be proven right, and it's really annoying. Can Heidi go home yet?

I am sure Rottenmeier has Clara's best intentions in mind. But she can't be right all the time as Clara's grandmother told her. She has confined herself, and the children, in a small box. Her mindset, which was the result of her self entrapment, regarded it as danger-free and secure, not realizing that sometimes it takes some kind of change to make a difference for the better. It is quite pitiable really, to be this stuck-up all the time.

Clara's grandmother is such a sweet old lady. It reminds me of how precious an elderly person like her can be.
