Eight already. One thing that this show doesn not too well is to show Heidi aging. The reason probably is because they wanted to be able to recycle animation (which this serie does well)

Isn't this one supposed to be her second winter? lol I guess we skipped a year or I'm just confused. Well, Heidi and Peter continue to be precious kids. The kids in the village are really mean though, repeating stuff that is said by others about her grandfather like broken records and laughing at her as if it were okay to mock someone like this. But even so she still had fun.

Those women in the village are nosy and silly as well, but I agree in part with them. Heidi's grandfather's lifestyle should be respected and there's nothing wrong with it, though he could be a bit more approachable. But I do believe Heidi should be allowed to go to school. He chose to live like this after having experienced communal life by going to school, for exemple. But imposing his lifestyle on Heidi in a one-sided way isn't going to be good for her. She should be able to see, learn and experience by herself.

He could be right when he says that she would be happier if she just continued to play with the goats, Joseph and Peter though. The world isn't exactly kind, but there are people out there who are! So making her close herself off before even trying to connect to others doesn't sound right.

Heidi is 8 years already. That would make Peter 14 years old? I wish for the show to handle Heidi's aging well, I agree on that sentiment. I feel like there are better ways to show a character's coming of age. I am curious though, Is Peter really that academically stunt not to know the alphabet at the age of 14? Or were the school's teaching methods at that time extremely different? Seeing how one of the kids, who looks to be around Peter's age, didn't know the alphabet all the much makes me think it is the latter rather than the former.

I understand where Grandfather is coming from, he wants to spend the rest of his time with Heidi on his side. He has his views and opinions regarding the school and for the rest of the villagers, who seem to act like the gossiping housewives they are. But Heidi needs to learn about the world on her own accord. There are some things. some knowledge and experience that he can't impart to his granddaughter. Let Heidi interact with what the world has to offer. She doesn't have to remain sheltered for the rest of her life. Her curious, wild free nature won't allow that. I am sure Heidi isn't the type of girl who would forget about her roots and origins. It is not like she will stop living with him. Besides, if he continues declining the letters sent to him, things may go a bit south. He has to come in terms that Heidi needs to have an education.
