| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- That was really entertaining to watch! Albeit I could only understand about 40% of the dialogue, I think Benio is quite charming. And her interaction with Shinobu is quite funny! This is as good as any modern shoujo, arguably better. It might seem a little generic, but consider the time period this was created (1970s), which was much more conservative. I'm a little sad to see this doesn't have any subs. Hopefully the new movie in 2017 will spark some new interest in the series because I'd love to see this subtitled. And I swear I've heard Tamaki's seiyuu before; either in Anne of Green Gables or Rose of Versailles... |

First impressions... wow, this looks like an 80's anime, not a 70's one. Reminds me quite a lot of both Tokimeki Tonight and Igano Kabamaru (Moreso Tokimeki Tonight, with the absurdity of the visual gags), overall. We also have a cross-dresser as a main character, it seems, neat! Pretty strong first episode, I think I'm going to like this series a lot. |
