So I have a problem. Most of the manga are going on for a long time but still unfinished now I could wait 10 years to let it finish, but I don't want to.

My question is: After a while I forget some information. How do you guys remember that information?

I just reread the last chapter I read and remember the characters, most things that happened and stuff like that. I usually have that information locked away, I just don't remember most of the time but I still know it, depending on the manga. Sometimes if it really was a long time, I just reread it completely.

I just sort of re-read the last 10 chapters before reading the new one. Sometimes when the hiatus was painfully long, i just go 'screw it' and re-read it from the start. Basically what i have done dozens of times whenever Berserk, HxH, and D Gray-Man get updated.

probably reread 5 latest chapters. I find myself losing interest in the manga if i takes too long tho
wut is the author of Black Lagoon doing...last time i saw his name, he was designing characters for Bikini Warriors ._. i guess hiatus is pretty common

Most of the time I just read a few chapters back, and it usually come back to me. I'm not the type to go back and know everything just so I can read more comfortably, but if I'm desperate I go to Wikias.

I mostly reread the last couple of chapters I stopped at and I end up remembering most (at leas the important bits) of the story.. if I don't, then I just reread everything all over again which I don't mind especially if I love the story/manga~ xD

For some series, everytime I read a new chapter I just write down a brief summary of what happened in a word document, if there were some important things I may end up forgetting. Since I am a really slow reader, and thus it would take time to reread chapters, I think it's a pretty useful method :P

I wonder why none of the previous comments have mentioned jotting down information that you would like to keep.

Depends on how long the break since I last read it was.

For Claymore, I just randomly stopped when Volume 24 released (I think that was the one..) so when the final volume was on its way out, I just re-read the whole thing cause it had been almost a year or more since I had last read it.

For Attack on Titan, I often just stop reading it to let it go ahead before going into it again. I'll usually just read the last volume I read or the last chapters with details I can remember when I start again.

Most of the other series I read are either already done (so I can just read through them) or I just gave up to allow them to go ahead more. The only exception coming to mind is Gangsta which I am actually caught up on in NA release's.

I never had that problem. As soon as I start the new chapter everything just comes back to me.

Nana, HxH, Real, Berserk and Vagabond has this problem

though I haven't read them yet, but I'm really intrigue since I hear a lot of good feedback from them
but I feel reluctant at the same time because I know it'll leave a bad taste after I catch up with them

usually I start reading the new chapter and hope to remember what happened before 😂 , I don't try a long manga until now so I can't be really useful :3 . there is one , it takes me a year to return to it so I just dropped it :D I'm not that person who going to read whole manga again 😅
So usually I search for finished manga :v

If there's too much to re-read, you can always search for its wikia or something like that. And if there's anything you're still not understanding after the latest chapter, either you ask around or you just re-read.
I HAVE TWO RULES:

RULE ONE: I'M ALWAYS RIGHT
RULE TWO: IF I'M WRONG, REFER TO RULE ONE...
