The people here don't have nearly as much leverage over the industry as the people in Japan who watch the shows and buy the merchandise

If I'm not mistaken, it's from Mahouka Koukou no rettousei where Yotsuba (Shiba) Tatsuya has a lot of girls fawning over him. He didn't care bout them because he is "emotionless" and only care about his (boring brocon) sister.
