So overall I thought this manga was pretty enjoyable. We got more of the 4 older girls interacting and saw them in several new outfits, which was nice for the variety. In that way it's the same K-On! we know and love.
Only Girlz are likeable too. My personal favourite was Ayame. Obviously she takes after Ritsu a lot, being similarly confident and kind-of loud too, but she also has that sensible, reflective side to her which is nice. Akira was mostly what you'd expect from a tsundere, starting off being quite cold towards Yui (and with good reason, sometimes XD) but eventually warming up to her by the end of this manga. Sachi was alright too, although she didn’t say too much so she ended up being mainly defined by her quiet nature and her height complex. :L Kana and Chiyo were cool, too. If this manga were ever continued, I think there’s definitely scope to expand on these characters and their relationships with each other and the HTT girls.
Overall I’d give this manga a 7/10. A fun read but not quite up there with the amazingness of the high-school era in the main 4 volumes, and a bit of an abrupt ending, too. Worth checking out though, and if KyoAni ever did decide to animate it, I’d sure as heck watch it, not least because I trust them to add even more substance to everything, just as they did with the main series. :)
I had avoided the "College" manga because I heard it had concluded with an especially 'downer' ending, as in HTT breaks up, or at least some member quits and it is made obvious they will never get anywhere. But in looking at the "chapter summaries", I don't see that. Did I miss-read someone's commentary, or perhaps see someone's alternate universe summary? (or someone was tossing in pieces of "That Is It", which is an entirely different AU anyway).

I remember nothing about them breaking up, they did split at the graduation since Asuza had to stay behind and suchs, but they kept things going on college. The college part doesn't even have a conclusion, it's just them at college for a bit and nothing more.
@op the college part was, for me, not as good as K-on, the new band and the new girls were pretty uninteresting to me, even Yui relationship with the tsun girl I got no idea what'ser name is
But well ofcourse, since K-on best girl only appears on K-on High-School (◑‿◑)
