Similair to the PSP thread, I'm wondering if anyone can suggested any games for either PC or PS3 with an anime / RPG theme. Along the lines of Tales of Destiny, Shin Megami Tensei.

I was given a PS3 ages ago and aside from GTAV, i've not really found anything thats drawn me in. So any suggestions would be really appreciated :-)

They are still making games for the PS3 now that the PS4 is out? Neat! Thank you all for the suggestions so far!

This. So much this.

And Okami HD.

And you mentioned Tales of Destiny, so Symphonia Chronicles is obligatory if you haven't played it already. Just the first one, though. Xillia too.

Well, there's always Final Fantasy. I don't really like FF, but my sister seems to enjoy it, so you might like it as well.

Slightly more prominent PS3 JRPG that aren't posted yet.

Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMix
Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMix
Resonance of Fate

Personally, I'll just opt for Okami HD, Ys and Valkyria Chronicles. The last 2 are also on PC.

Tears to Tiara 2 is good, if you're ok with an JRPG in more of a VN format. Shadows of the Colossus/ICO collection is kind of a must-have imo for your PS3 lineup. Tales of Xillia and Xillia 2 are also on PS3. Atelier series by GUST Corporation is another recommendation.

On Steam, you have economic RPG game Recetear, troll games like Eryi's Action, board-game style 100% Orange Juice, various visual novels, and console ports like Valkyria Chronicles, Final Fantasy, Agarest, etc.

I've only recent become aware of the visual novels, i sort of like the anime styles ones, though I dont really know many. I have to say I've never really been a huge Final Fantasy fan, I dont know why..I think perhaps it stems from playing it on the PSone and not being over enthused with the controls. I've seen later games for the PS2 that looked really nice, but i never really got around to playing them.

I thought Shadow of the Colossues was a PS2 game? I own it on the PS2, it's visually stunning, the music is nothing short of amazing. But I'm left some times pulling my hair out when I'm playing it, i really struggle with the controls, climbing up the huge monsters and often falling to my doom lol
BTW what does ICO stand for? I think my gaming style is more story and less split second reaction as I seem suck at it :-P

Ico and Shadow of the Colossus were ported to the PS3. Both have story, but much of it is left vague. They're amazing games, just maybe not your kind of games, which is totally okay. There's other great suggestions here.

And Ico doesn't stand for anything, the title's just stylized that way. It's the main character's name.

Oh dont get me wrong, I LOVE Shadow of the Colossus, even if i am a little rubbish as it. I really love the look of the game, maybe my only criticism is how barren the world is..Perhaps the PS2 couldn't have handled animals roaming the land IDK.

I will look in to ICO and Valkarie Chronicles, thanks guys, really appreciate the suggestions. My aim was to fill out my Steam and PS3 library.

Valkryia Chronicles as said before and it's both on PC and PS3 I believe. I got it on steam for $7 when it was on sale. I belive it's $14 right now. Would also recommend Before the Echo (previously known as sequence), watch TB's review of it of ur skeptic about it, I think its $4.99 on steam.
EDIT: summer steam sale starts June 11 I believe

This so much. If only Nihon Falcom would get back to making their games on PC again....
Also Trails in the sky FC, it's a slow start and generally up and down story wise each chapter though.

First of you'll never get SMT quality on PC or PS3 (Persona is the king of the JRPG these days after all), but maybe take a look at these:

PC:
Valkyria Chronicles
The Last Remnant
Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1
YS I & II Chronicles+
The PC can also emulate a bunch of consoles too, some running better than how the games originally did.

PS3
Ni No Kuni
Deception IV: Blood Ties

To be honest the PS Vita has far more good JRPGs, the large majority of them on PS3 and PC are really bad. There is a reason why gamers said that the JRPG was dead, also for the love of all gaming please STAY AWAY from Final Fantasy they're some of the worst offenders.

Got my PS3 repaired and as a celebration, I went out and bought Valkyria Chronicles. I cost me half the price of what it's selling on Steam. So I dont think thats so bad.

I really like the look of Hyperdimension Neptunia
