Shijou Saikyou no Deshi Kenichi??

Watched the anime and loved it so I'd like to get into the manga. My questions are:

1. How closely does the anime follow the manga?
2. What chapter does the anime leave off?
3. Where does "Shijou Saikyou no Deshi Gaiden" fit in?

Its quite close but only covers like the first 100 chapters.

Gaiden is the OVA release and covers major fights in the manga. so its not consistent in story.

Three changes but only one worth to mention concerning a traveltraining arc prior to a fight.
I think it finishes on either chp. 144 or 145? Surly one of these ;)
