| Ah, Ash was smart to use Rain Dance since Goodra has the Hydration ability. I wasn't really surprised since Rain Dance pretty much gave a hint at what type of ability I found it odd how Ash would send Goodra to face Helioisk. Helio had the advantage in speed, combined with that Flash/D.Tail combo, devastating damage. Either Ash was using Goodra to scout how powerful Helioisk is or he underestimated it. Regardless of what reason, Helioisk being defeated was pretty cool. Using Helioisk's frills as an opening to attack. This is the Ash I like to see. Luxray wiped the floor with Pikachu. It literally ate that Thunderbolt lol. Wild Charged at the end by an electric lion. Goodra's defenses are insane. It took a Dragon Tail which is Super Effective, and several of Luxray's attacks. Then it releases a devastating Bide that shakes the battle field and the stands. Now that the long awaited battle is over, we'll be back to seeing Clemont with the gang. Next stop Lavarre City, and hopefully the debut of Team Flare. I'm wondering, how will Ash handle Valaerie's Fairy Types. They are only weak to Poison and Steel, which Ash lacks. Either Hawlucha learns Poison Jab, if it can learn it, or one of Ash's Pokemon learns a Poison move, maybe Goodra. |

| It was a good battle, although I would have preferred it even more if Citron did have a full Electric type team. Oh Goodra has become such a powerhouse of Ash's team. I really hope it doesn't leave as a lot of people are kind of predicting. I really wonder what would be Ash's last Pokemon to complete the team of six. I still can see Ash getting a Honedge (to evolve to Aegislash). Hopefully he does get it before Valerie's gym battle. |

Chespin is out of the question since Clemont has it, maybe Skiddo. |

| With episodes like these, can't get enough of XY. Intense gym battles, great companions, meaningful character growths. That battle was evenly matched. Can't believe Citron put Satoshi to the edge. The gym battle rule allow Satoshi to sub, which he did twice and worked to his advantage but yeah, glad to see Numelgon save the day. |

| It was great seeing Clemont using Heliolisk! I was hoping he would. I wish he would take Heliolisk along with him, but if he did I guess Clembot wouldn't have anything to battle challengers with other than Magnemite and Magneton, so I guess it has to be this way. And yay he used Luxray!! I've been wanting him to battle more with Luxray too! Clemont and Luxray make such a great team. Clemont even wears some of the same colors as Luxray! I'm just now noticing that. xP AND Ash had Goodra do exactly what I always have my Goodra do in Pokémon Y! Since it has Hydration, I always have it use Rain Dance to eliminate status conditions. It's so weird to see Ash using my strategy xD |

| That was a really awesome battle, I kept not knowing who would win. Of course in the end Ash won because of his superior intellect to an inventor. That was a good move getting Goodra to do rain dance and win the battle. It was surprising that for once Pikachu didn't save the day. Almost as surprising as no Team Rocket lol. |

| I feel like I'm going to re-watch this episode several times in the future. I fell in love with it. Not only because of the context (this fight was the one everyone was waiting for), but also by the way that Satoshi and Citron were really determined to win, it definitely gave a great sensation to it. Not to mention the animation, oh God...it was superb! I'm glad Hawlucha finally could beat one Pokemon xd And that final scene...the feels. I don't want Satoshi to leave his friends this time :C |

Anyway, excellent gym battle.. it's the best so far with some combination between strategy and raw power, i guess the hyped paid off then.. I'm surprise on how 1 pokemon can be far stronger just because the trainer.. Clemont's heliolisk is far far stronger than when it used by Clembot with the tricky flash and speed it's pretty deadly IMO.. good to see Hawlucha can beat him today.. It's also smart for ash to use rain dance to wear off the paralyzed Goodra and turning the tide of the battle since it's also switch off the Electric Terrain.. The finishing also pretty cool although i guess they can make it better since apparently Luxray beaten by 1 attack albeit the bide is really strong because the amount of damage that Goodra received but still.. and in the end, ash got his volt badge and i like it when our crew gather and decide to go on with the journey again.. it's nice to have Clemont again :D Overall an excellent episode.. the best ones so far and hope the later gym battle have the same amount of intense and nice combination between strategy and power just like this one.. Looking forward to see the next episode.. 5/5 |
