Contender for best anime of 2014?
| Keep in mind that I haven't really been following all the latest anime recently produced, so...not exactly the most well-developed opinion here. I just watch whatever I'm in the mood for, not whatever is new and has a massive following and blahblahblah. I liked Noragami, it was pretty good. I just recently got into Shingeki no Bahamut: Genesis and loved it (it's my sig). |

| shigatsu is the best for me. gonna have to watch that ping pong though. fate stay night is watchable but i dont get the hivemind hype for that series. parasyte is very good. i liked a few others but not as much as shigatsu and parasyte. |
| fate stay has a decent enough story - but the fights and art and animation are amazing. i cant actually understand why people like parasyte as much as they do. its OK, but it doesnt seem that special to me. Seems like your everyday shonen plot, though they do delve slightly into deeper themes like evolution and what it means to be human, its treated in a very teen way. |

| My favorites this year were: Seitokai Yakuindomo* Akatsuki no Yona (I know it's barely into the story, but shit I'm loving it) Nisekoi Zankyou no Terror Gugure! Kokkuri-san Seitokai was my absolute favorite, but as far as an amazing anime goes Zankyou wins. |

| mmm Maybe Barakamon, Ping Pong, Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso, Aldnoah Zero (love the MC (a little remind me to lelouch) but hate the ending -_-), and Nisekoi Maybe, oh and Zankyou no Terror don't make me choose one o_O i enjoy all of it o_O |

| Fate/Stay night UBW 2014 for me, even if it's not finished yet. Barakamon, Parasyte are just as good. NGNL is also one of my favourites. Tokyo Ghoul was complete shit, I love the manga tho. |

| I would have said Parasyte but simply because it's not finished yet I can't in good conscience give it my vote. So with that in mind, I voted ZnT, loved that series when it was airing. |

| Not on that list but my vote goes to Wake Up, Girls! (OMG there's gonna be a sequel movie! ... adds to PTW) which started airing a year ago... forgotten... overshadowed... the "realistic" idol anime. Knights of Sidonia and Terror in Tokyo didn't have singing and dancing so too bad for them. (Psycho-Pass 2 is the real winner, but that's boring to mention) |

| Parasyte, then Fate/Stay Night Unlimited Blade Works. Log Horizon 2 will be it if it lives up to the first one (haven't watched any yet). JoJo should be good too. |
| 2014 was probably the most disappointing year in anime for me personally.... Nothing stood out....NOTHING. I was leaning towards Fate/Stay Night but goddamn that fucking ending.... Terror in Resonance started really great....then it turned into a crappy version of death note. NGNL had a very stylistic art and animation with likable characters and whatnot....but it's still pretty generic. Unlike other years where there are easily two or three great anime for me that could easily hold the title of "AOTY" for me, this year it feels like NO ONE deserves that. |
