| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Obviously this was a prequel, as Gradius initial encounter with the Bacterian and Eddie is still alive at this point. I understand Eddie's sympathy for Paula but I was on the same page with Dan's suspicious mind and it was all a wasted effort. I think this was slightly better than the first but only by a little margin. 5/10 |

| So, this was the first encounter with the Bacterian. Stephanie's father was the one thing that helped our heroes save the day here. One interesting thing. Dan is a lieutenant, and is once referred to as "Lieutenant Dan." Quite ironic seeing that this predates Forrest Gump. |

| Much better than the first episode, still long but not 15 minutes of Lord British complaining. Kind of weird that they sort of used Eddie's aspect of not being a Gradian native as a plot point in both episodes and not revealed until the end with both. Makes me wonder if at one point this was the first episode. THere were some cool monster effects, and that lady being a Bacterian scout was creepy. |
