The best parents I can think of right now are Koiwai from Yotsuba (Yeah, yeah, I know he's from a manga. That counts.) and Maes Hughes from FMA.

Don't forget Yasuko Takasu from Toradora, she was an awesome mom. She kept working her ass, while being a single parent, to support her son. Now that's badass parenting.
