So I recently got into manga and noticed the English volumes I'm getting don't have color pages so I looked it up and everyone said it would be too expensive. However recently I got 2 Bleach Japanese manga volumes and they had color page art but was in black and white. Do only the magazines have color pages?

Some manga also have color pages. Even some English releases.

But even in Japan, many of those colored chapter covers that appear in magazines are converted to black and white on the manga book. All to reduce costs. It also annoys me...
The writer who penned Clashing Feelings. You can buy the light novel on Amazon.

Why, though? I mean comics are mostly colored, yet they still make a profit out of it. So why? Is it greed or are Japanese people not buying enough manga?

It is done simply to cut losses and to make more profits. Its obviously more expensive to print millions of copies in colored ink. When you can just make one copy in colored in, photocopy that in black and white and then just print colored pages for the first few pages. Less money used in actually producing those books. So when you produce in bulk..its much cheaper too. So even if the manga doesnt sell quickly or not as much as they hoped it would, their profits are still pretty high and confirmed.

Its not greed, its just business.
