| Honestly, their circumstances are so similar and they relate so much to each other. Even more than Saber and and Shirou and definitely more than Archer and Rin. A beautiful girl abandoned by those who should've taken care of her, violated against her will as a child, branded as a monster, sent to a faraway place, became both jealous and yet still loving of her sister and due to a power she was cursed with against her will, her negative emotions went out of control and instinctively proceeded to kill everyone. Can you guess from this which one I'm talking about, Sakura or Medusa? Gorgon is basically Dark Sakura who didn't get stopped by Shirou, killing everyone she loved and her sane self would be in pure agony for what she did, despite being a victim herself. |

| I like how they changed Kingu's sacrifice a bit. Instead of immediately breaking, his chains actually hold until Ereshkigal does her thing so he doesn't seem like a massive loser jobber. Tiamat''s CG looked bad in some shots but great in others. Still can't really compare to that one game CG, but I think it looks cooler than her ingame sprite. The remix of Babylonia's map theme and the Grand Battle theme were hype as shit. |

| Y'know, I really wonder what they plan on doing for these last two episodes. Didn't think this ep would have taken us so far. Episode 20 should be enough to conclude the fight with Tiamat unless they extend it to look cooler? So that leaves us with the short ass epilogue send off for Episode 21, which obviously isn't enough to fill an entire episode. Perhaps they'll somehow re-integrate Mashu's convo with Goetia from the start of the chapter that they cut but alluded to (???) as a lead up to Time Temple? |
| I can see the sendoffs taking half the final episode if they extend some conversations and do some flashbacking. The other half will probably bookend the questions about humanity Mashu was asked in Babylonia Episode 0, so probably the Goetia convo along with some inner monologuing and reminiscing that helps wrap up her character arc and leads to her mindset at Time Temple Solomon. |

| Honestly I thought the pace was fine, if i had to nitpick I wish Ana/Gorgon's battle with Tiamat was a bit more fleshed out(she essentially just used her NP then disappeared lol). Otherwise everything else was pretty damn awesome. Really looking forward to next episode, I'm expecting Cloverworks to blow our minds even more than they did with episode 18. Seeing Gramps with Merlin support and Gil going all out will be a fucking spectacle. And it looks they're gonna add Ishtar and Eresh in the final fight, which is great cause I was kinda bummed when the two of them just kinda went off screen after they played their parts in the game. King Hassan was only able to impose the concept of 'Death' onto Tiamat because they managed to drop her into the Underworld where her restoration Authority didn't work and she was at her weakest state possible due to all the cumulative damage she was taking to the point where even her old wounds - like the belly wound she got from Marduk - re-opened. Plus Merlin managed to seal off her other Authority. And even then it's hilarious because 99% of what contributed to weakening her enough to make that possible is Tiamat herself constantly inflicting damage on herself due to Self-Sealing. All Chaldea had to do was essentially just beat down a weakened Tiamat with like 1% HP left and even then they had so much trouble with it. |

| I noticed quite a few people kind of overrate and overestimate what King Hassan does here in Babylon. Like just because he's a grand, they believe gramps can beat Tiamat by himself and some think he did or at did most of the work. Those people probably actually read/played through the story themselves tho. |

| King Hassan, like everyone else, did a very minimal amount of work. The one who did 90% of the work is unironically Tiamat herself. And King Hassan is only able to accomplish what he does due to all the convenient circumstances that others lay out for him leading up to that point. Had she been up on the surface and not taken a bunch of damage due a multitude of powerful Noble Phantasms, he wouldn't have been able to impose the concept of 'Death' on her no matter how hard he tries. I guess people just kinda misunderstand or forget that Grands aren't really meant to act individually and they're supposed to take Beasts on as a group when necessary. There's an ancient interview where Nasu claims it would take 7 Counter Guardians (which we now know referred specifically to Grands in their purpose to take down Beasts) to take down Primate Murder (who we now know is Beast IV). Fuck, if you count Merlin and Gilgamesh being there, they took 3 Grand-tier Servants to take down a mega-weakened Tiamat. There's also Quetzalcoatl, but she's admittedly pretty weakened in her state as a Servant. |

| That was another damn good episode from Babylonia. Although, I really dislike how much they absolutely butchered Tiamat's characterization here. They turned her from this mindless sympathetic mother, into yet another dumb Kaiju. They even seem to realize this and went "oh shit, we still haven't explained Tiamat's motivation and we're pretty much at the final stretch now" and had Merlin all of a sudden awkwardly lore dump Tiamat's literal Bond 5 in-game profile at us before he introduced KH. With the collapse of the cornerstone of the anthropic principle, Tiamat managed to return to this world with the power of the Holy Grail. And yet, she was in middle of a slumber. Setting aside wherever it was caused by Merlin’s magecraft, she awoke from that sleep due to the attack from Chaldea and set out to eradicate mankind in accordance with her instincts. While there is resentment・hatred・sadness for being discarded as someone who had already served her purpose, this is also a deed of indulging in the “joy” of once again repainting the Earth’s ecosystem and having everything come back to the mother. Her Class was determined by this true nature described above. The goddess of Genesis and the likes are nothing but fake names. Deserted by humans, this is one of the most rejected great disasters in human history. Its name is Beast II. One of the seven human vices, the beast carrying the principle of "regression." I can forgive some of good scenes and lines they cut and they didn't affect my overall score of the show, but this the one clear blemish I can't look past. You were so close to being the perfect Fate adaptation, Babylonia. You were oh so close. |
