lol. at this point I don't know if you're trolling by posting opposite of your actual opinion or you really believe what you are saying. if it's the latter then i do respect your opinion and if you truly enjoy this anime then good for you.

it is also my humble opinion that you are not mature enough to understand more complex, mature and deeper animes like Evangelion or even the original gundam that has more to it underneath 2 giant entities fighting each other. maybe you are too young or just started watching anime.

First there is a huge difference with using references as a homage or inspiration feom other works and just blatantly using reference to nostalgia bait viewers to evoke a reaction of "i know what that reference is from". an example would be The Matrix. Matrix is heavily influenced by animes like Ghost in the Shell and Akira (like most things are) but matrix uses these works as inspiration so well that it is not just defined by the things references. It is it's own thing. On the other side of the spectrum is Deadpool and Wolverine. This movie is just easter egg the movie it cannot stand without the movies that came before it. Gquuuuuux is Deadpool and Wolverine.

Second if this is your first time watching a multiverse story then I envy you. Multiverse and alternate timeline has been plauging the entertainment industry for sometime now. and no, it is not original. Wanda Vision, steins gate, Re Zero, Madoka, Erased, Final Fantasy VII remake and the first one I thought of after watching GQuuuuuux - Noin.

Lastly to say that the message and theme of eva and gqux is just plain baffling to me. Eva deals with domestic abuse, trauma, and other horrible stuff that people experiences everyday and at the very end the message is these struggles are a part of life and to live in a perfect world without any struggle isn't living. in the end Shinji chose to live in the real world despite all of it's flaws. that is some heavy fcking stuff. What is Gqux's themes and message? Love and friendship conquers all, Every conflict can be resolved if we just talked it out.

Again if you enjoy the show then kudos. But the quality between this and Eva is lightyears apart.

@nameme137 Ehh i don't think you really understand what you're talking about. My posts are very consistent and in line with what's actually happening within shows. Firstly, it is wrong to appeal to age, that's just dumb.

GQuuuuuuX has various types of references, it's better than both EVA and Matrix at it. By design it's a 0079 work, so it's using it's universe. Then there are additional references on top of that. EVA is literally copy-pasting Ultraman, Gundam, Cyber City Oedo?, Giant Robo?, Ideon, it's the Anno and Gainax style, simply copy-pasting stuff without much thought. You can see it in his live-action movies. Genshin, Tarantino doing stuff like that. I'm not talking about just the multiverse, i mean entirety of the work.

The main message of GQuuuuuuX = do not listen to those blockheaded masses, live freely. Pretty in line with EVA's message to Shinji and a similar joke about Otaku. It's also based on everyday real-life problems. GQuuuuuuX just hasn't gotten viral popularity and was too successful in what it's doing.

@notense Lol. really everything about this post is so bad it's hilarious.

That's exactly the problem. All GQux it does is reference stuff from 79 and other anime and it's doing it not as an inspiration but blatant nostalgia bait. IE using Unit 1 color scheme for GFreD.

All you did was list mecha and giant robo animes haha. A grade school student can make a better argument than that.

The multiverse is the core conflict of the story which again has already been done countless time that alone makes it very unoriginal. But let's look at it as a whole. As a whole GQux is set on an alternate UC timeline, which reuses many of it's beloved characters and it's concepts. So which of that is original again?

Oh yeahh. very deep and thought provoking definitely par and similar to EVA.

What even is this? How is this the message of Evangelion? I think I missed an episode or two because this is no way related to EVA and if this is how you interpret that anime I don't even know what to think.

You keep saying things without elaborating or giving specific examples. What everyday real-life problems does GQux tackle with it's themes?

Again I would like to elaborate that I do not have problem with you loving GQuuuuuux. I rated it 4 which is bad but that's me.What I found fascinating is comparing it to Evangelion and insisting that they are equal in quality. I think EVA is a masterpiece that reflects the author's state of mind during it's inception and GQuuuuuux is a product made to appeal to an audience in order to rake in some quick buck. And every time you try to prove your point it just makes it clear to me that your just hatin on EVA just because a lot of people love it, you want to go against the flow. In short your a hipster.

Not really. All the you can muster is GQuuuuuux did it better without explaining why.

For example: why do you think the story is "extremely" original? When I asked you this, you just shrugged it off without giving a definite answer.

@nameme137 I answered on every one of your EVA comparisons directly. Do you want me to feed you the answer on a spoon? You act like a fan of Evangelion, but you don't know the most basic things that every Gainax fan knows. That and your previous message confirm Eva & GQuuuuuuX's necessity in joking over otaku.

Yes please, that will actually make me see things through your eyes.

I just asked you what makes GQuuuuuux extremely original and you literally refused to answer again.

@nameme137 Well, that's the point of the work, i don't want to do it as it would be going against it. I could've given you a link to an /r/gundam reddit post, which has a direct answer... I actually already explained it to dozens of people, and they didn't care too much... So try to find it yourself, you can start with rereading your messages and my answers.

WfM really is the three houses of Gundam. It's mentioned in like 60 percent of this thread here despite not being the topic of this thread. Incredible.

Anyways, it's not a good sign for a show's reputation or longevity if you need to bring in another show to validate a decision that another show made and it clearly shows with the middling reception the show has.

But hey, it made money for Bandai, so that's the only thing that matters to them.
