It would be nice if masks were somewhat normalized for pseudoanonymity purposes in general rather than something imposed on anyone.

This is by far one of the worst ideas. Not only is it demeaning, but also who gets to decide what is ugly? In this hypothetical scenario are you the country leader or is the existing leader the one calling the shots? If your current leader determines that your own face is too ugly and you have to wear a mask would you just accept it?

Imagine how many people will see this thread and think it's meant as a self-deprecating joke instead of just assuming that you are an awful person. And it's all thanks to me.

As an ugly person, I can say that it actually could’ve worked — hiding behind beautiful masks might have been nice. After a while, those naturally good-looking people who didn’t wear masks would probably be the ones getting bullied instead. But really, the ones who should be bullied are the poor — because these days, there’s plastic surgery for everything, and everyone’s getting something done. So if you’re unattractive, it’s not your looks that are the problem — it’s that you’re poor. That’s the real “crime.”
