| The Viz translation does a better job with Rayleigh and Gaban’s relationship. “並ぶ” doesn’t mean “equals” especially since the same term was used for Arlong and Jinbei. The implied hierarchy is clear ("Gold" Roger > "Silvers" Rayleigh > "Scopper" Gaban). Interestingly, Rayleigh ends up being Zoro’s weakest parallel (after Mihawk and Ryuma) while Gaban is Sanji’s strongest. Many assumed this arc would center on Usopp but it’s looking more like Brook will take the spotlight instead. The tie explains why Gunko is a big Soul King fan. |

| huh, at first I thought Gunko being such a big fan of Brook's music was just a cute characteristic; I wasn't expecting it to tie into her lore. I suspect Brook was likely some form of caretaker for her rather than her biological father though. |
