I think you haven't watched enough romance anime if you say it's been a long time since there's good romance because last year we got goated love is war and last season there was dangers in my heart the best romance in 2023 so far, this anime is good but nothing new it's just a cinderela story with a sadder backstory and more depth. If you don't like the highschool romance genre it's just your subjective taste because there are lots of good romance anime setting in school and don't generalize that all highschool romance is bad |

This anime is quite refreshing. We want more mature love story like this one. |

I still can't convince myself about the fantasy settings in a historical theme. It feels like an Isekai-type fantasy with kimonos. Nevertheless the romance part is okay but I will keep Insomniacs ahead. |

It’s not exactly generic for an anime, but it sure as hell is for western standards. It’s like a female’s wet dream combined with a good enough plot to keep the male audience entertained. The author was great enough to combine somewhat of a clear power-fantasy of hers with an actual surprisingly great plot and world-building. I’m also kinda mixed on Mio’s voice acting. At one hand, it’s amazing how well she is able to portray a traumatised and reclusive character. That’s why her voice is so low. That said… Fuck, her voice is TOO low. Even when she WAS supposed to show more emotion, like in her literal happy thoughts, her voice remains annoyingly slow. That kinda hinders pretty much all of the emotional moments. You can’t really feel anything if the characters aren’t feeling it, after all. It’s definitely good. I gave it a solid 8/10. But like, it’s been long since we got a good romance? Really? Bro, the Kaguya-Sama movie made my male ass heart go “kyun” like a 16 years old girl. It’s easily the best romance ever written in the anime industry. Or at least in the past 10 years, since I can’t really attest about older stuff. Point being, it’s not even comparable how great of a romantic story these two are. High school romances aren’t bad by default, the problem is simply that MOST of them are bad lol. This show is very good. But it’s less because it’s an actual amazing story and more because we aren’t used to seeing this kind of story adapted well into anime format. That said, we only got five episodes so far. Nothing is stopping the story from going places in the future lol. The main male and female characters are very well written, while the side characters are interesting and important to the whole story plot. Also both the main characters draw in the male and female audience. I mean, yeah? A power-fantasy CAN have well written characters. That’s why I gave it a 8/10. It’s by no means bad. World-building is also quite great. So is the plot. But really, please, you can’t seriously be saying the target audience isn’t clearer than the sky. This is a shoujo. Admittedly so. It is a work written by a woman about a classic female fantasy. Like, literally a classic. So much of a classic that it has been around for literal hundreds of years. Not to say men can’t enjoy it. I very much AM enjoying it myself. Doesn’t mean I can’t recognise a clear female fantasy lmao. That’s simply what the show is. A bullied woman who has self-worth issues is suddenly married with a kind perfect man who basically accepts her unconditionally and gives her a life of luxuries? Oh, on top of that, she’s actually really special and comes from a lineage of special people who can control minds. I mean, please. There are well written male fantasies as well. A whole lot of them. Those shows CAN be good. The characters CAN not be literal self-inserts and experience their own growth. That said, we don’t need to delude ourselves into saying these aren’t clear fantasies lol. I see it more like this … The woman everyone despised, hated, were disgusted by, is actually the female prize catch and the perfect wife. The man everyone said was difficult, impossible, cruel, is actually the male prize catch and the perfect husband. After being together, it became this perfectly matched couple against the evil world around them. Only a few people recognize how good they are and are willing to help them. |

We had Fruits Basket in 2019. I get so bored of the typical high school banter and drama and awkward blushes. I want some GOOD adult romance for once! Very happy with this one so far! I thought the ice guy and his cool female colleague was pretty alright. That was was cute, too! I found it a bit underwhelming though. yeah, I see what you mean. I'd reccomend reading it, the manga has some really nice art and you could catch up relatively quickly. |

one of the most highly regarded romance anime was "Kimi ni Todoke" (From Me to You). It's a heartwarming and touching series that tells the story of Sawako Kuronuma, a shy and misunderstood girl often compared to the horror movie character Sadako due to her appearance and reserved nature. Black seed living bitters, also known as "Black Seed Bitters" or "Living Bitters," is a herbal supplement However, her life takes a turn when Shouta Kazehaya, the most popular boy in her school, befriends her. The anime beautifully depicts their blossoming friendship and gradual progression towards a sweet and sincere romance. The characters are well-developed, and the series captures the essence of young love, friendship, and personal growth. Keep in mind that newer anime series might have been released after my last update, so it's always good to check for more recent recommendations and reviews to find the best romance anime for your taste. |

I was just thinking about it – it's been quite a while since I binged six episodes of a romance anime. The last one I can recall was "Kaguya-sama". I had thought I'd grown out of anime romance, but this show kinda made me realize that most romance anime are just below average. Even though the plotline is pretty generic, this show definitely knows how to keep things entertaining. |
