Nagatoro is better. Kaguya-sama is better.

And that one and only guy who keeps hating on Kaguya-sama every thread chance he gets is very mad about this 😂

Its pretty subjective but I really really enjoyed reading this series compared to Kaguya sama (love the manga) and Dress Up Darling (especially the later chapters, it doesnt scream reiwa energy that much compared to the dangers in my heart imo)

Id say the first episodes are really important in order to show Ichikawa's growth and character development, which made it a lot of satisfying and enjoyable together with the romantic development

It deserves more attention and appreciation, and not being compared by Kaguya-sama though. People really cannot go away to somewhere without comparing things with each other, sadly.

It's pretty good fuel for a very specific and fetishized kind of escapism.

Best of anything, tho? Nah. This Show feels like soft porn for someone with weird sexual tendencies.

No one's mentioned Nozaki-kun.
Definitely was the funniest show I saw early on before I got into watching seasonal. Since then Kaguya-sama is definitely up there, but another 2 I don't think I saw as I scanned through was Hi Score Girl and Tomo-chan.

Don't be sorry^^

You took one Word out of everything I just said and intentionally misunderstood it, so you could actually have an argument about it^^

You did pretty good. It's MaL. That is the way to do it.

We just have different opinions, that's all.

But...before you try to delve deep into why "porn" is such a wrong word to use....it's not about sex.

There are sites literally dedicated to guys getting kicked in the balls or girls getting their feet dirty, for example. These are fetishes. It's sexual, but it's not. This Show, in my opinion, does something similar, with it's submissive male protagonist.

So with that in mind (and with the will to get the point) you might now understand what I meant. Also "soft" is a really key word you, intentionally, missed.

No, not really. Its initial impression gave you the idea of one-sided hate/despise relationship before it turned into a blushing, fanservice-y, weekly entertainment.

Yes it is and I'm saying this as a manga reader.
No other romcom didn't even come close to this.
People saying Kaguya is the best romcom but it's definitely NOT true (and the same I can say about others like Nagatoro, Takagi-san, etc). First of all - Kaguya is more of a comedy than a romance. Secondly - any romance story that locked progression behind 100-200 chapters with the same stuff again and again can't be called the best purely because of this. It's a "sitcom" formula and it is a BAD writing of the story. The dangers in my heart doesn't have this problem even slightly! It has a GREAT progression and a GREAT character development. And besides that the relationships between two are SO GOOD, no stupid stuff like misunderstandings that can't be solved by one conversation. Yes, guess what? In this show they DO have these conversations and WOW they understand each other! They open to each other more and more and I didn't even see this kind of closeness in other shows EVER! This is much more realistic than usual shows that just have these "archetype" characters that doesn't exist in real life. Both of MCs of Dangers in my heart  feel like real humans. And the situations they run into also always more realistic and not so "cliche" as in other shows.

It totally is if you don't drop it at the first episode. The manga is one of the best romcoms I've read and the anime is doing a good job at adapting it, it just takes 2 or 3 (anime) episodes until the ride truly starts. Some extra chapters from the manga are missing though, which is a shame because they are super cute.
Saying it's the best romcom ever with only 8 episodes out is crazy though, but if you are up to date with the manga it's a valid opinion.

thanks , I'm in the same situation as a manga reader and I thinks the same on every point , but I'm too lazy to explain it :p
not sure it's the best romcom , since I don't thinks something like that exists in the first place, plus first season is only 8/12 and will cover half of the manga and it's not finished ...
btw kaguya anime is only half complete , so ppl wait a bit to judge the whole thing , you might change your mind on some part :)

*Realistic romance progression. The dynamic from strangers -> friends -> sth more than friends is very real and relatable. They fall in love thru tiny little interactions which builds up.

Yes, it's true. For addition, I like how Kyo struggle to change his new personality.

IMO, there is no "comedy" in this show. And they are not comedian thought. It more like cute "moment" rather than comedy 😅

As far as akward guy X pretty girl romcoms go, this is up there. It's better than Kaguya too because the 4d chess part is nowhere near as forced nor spoonfeeds you every little thing.

It sounded like you truly believe there are many better romcoms out there than BokuYabai and you made me curious.
I've been watching anime since the early nineties, a lot of good (and average) romcoms too. In my opinion, BokuYabai one of the best, if not *the* best romcom series since Tsuki ga kirei, and that one is already 6 years old (and is less comedy and more romance). Nothing comes close to the messy and real awkwardness & real romantic progression like BokuYabai, but maybe I missed some good series in recent years which I wasn't aware of.
