| WOW, I'm speechless what an episode, I already need to rewatch it a couple time. Ishitani Megumi is just too talented at this point, she can elevate the chapter level by 100 time, all the original content she add is just perfect and perfectly executed, now I just can't wait to see future episodes where she will be involved. |

| I can't tell you how many times I've rewatched this single episode back to back, start to finish, no words said, only tears and moans. I'm still bawling my yes as of typing this, this was simply the single best, no, greatest episode I've ever watched in anything ever. I was very worried about how Toei will even approach adapting this episode but it seems, we were always in good hands. Hands down the best animated One Piece episode, the best-directed Shounen episode, and overall, the most feels I've gotten in a long time, this is no longer a simple milestone, it's an usher of a new era of One Piece, probably the latest before it's gone, simply being a weekly follower of this series today will never be matched. I'm very honored to have been born just in time to witness this masterclass among masterpieces, we made it folks. Moment of silence for all comrades who were not able to make it this far. With that said, I'll leave it at this as I'm eager to go back to rewatch the episode. |
| God tier episode as expected of Ishitani's direction. Everything was so beautiful, it almost got me emotional. Leagues above the trash that was 914 and 915. |

| It's a shame that the episode didn't cover a whole chapter, but I guess in this case I can let it slide since a few pages from chapter 1000 had already been used in 1014 for some reason. Anyway the animation was great, almost to a fault. There's no way that Toei will be able to keep the rest of "Roof Piece" looking as good as this episode, so this episode's gorgeous animation was basically a one-time deal. Also Christ almighty, I realize that they needed to pad out the episode, but the fact that Yamato's flashback took half of the episode is insane. It was the only flaw in an otherwise great episode. |
| Best wano episode so far. Actually, scratch it: best One Piece episode until now. Animation and overall mood were on point, I didn't even mind the usual pacing since it was such a beautiful ride, and I was just appreciating the view. Luffy silently walking with no music was simply amazing, even his hat looked cooler. I also liked how the "filler" was actually relevant, giving more depth to Yamato and Ace. For once I didn't mind the pacing. Generally with one piece, the manga is overall a better experience, especially post time skip, but if every episode was like 1015 here, the anime would give its font a run for their money. This is probably the best adapted episode in one piece period. The anime is known for some great delivery during emotional and important scenes, but this one imo with kinemon takes the trophy, even if the scene itself isn't the most iconic. Just because of the style, art and VA. |

| I loved this episode. Ace with Yamato, little comment of Kaido about Shanks while Ace died at Marineford. Little fast recap of the key moments of the saga (like in the manga) and the big punch at the end with the words of Luffy for the final ... Just epic ^^ |
| Great episode, finally caught up to chapter 1000 in the manga. I ship Ace and Yamato btw... (it's a shame he died, they could've been the cutest) The music and entrances were awesome. Luffy's RED ROC was so hype!!! Did anyone else get mha power up vibes? Using the OG One Piece opening was a nice touch. Props to the team, can't wait for the next episode (ignoring the upcoming Sanji/Zoro recap..) |

| Everyone here be proud. There's not a lot of ppl in the world who can say they are dedicated to have watched 1015+ episodes of this journey and phenomenal story. Whether you've been here for since '99 or binged or caught up during this arc (me) I can confidentially say before this series I had nothing to look forward to and nothing to drive me want to live a long life, but now that I have been caught up since ep.996 this series (and Boruto) give me a reason. I know that's highkey sad but idc anymore I will live to see Luffy be the King of Pirates!! |

| Adaptation of the manga chapter 1000, and that was quite something. The constant build-up to Luffy being the one everyone has been waiting for so long. It felt cinematic. The conversation between Yamato and Ace years ago about Luffy leading the new era of pirates, resembling Roger and completing Oden's mission to bring down Kaido; the showdown between the Worst Generation and the two Emperors; Luffy entering the scene but caring more about his badly injured samurai friends; and Luffy continue their mission to bring down Kaido and punches him with a new, long-practised attack. Everything was on point and had creative imagery. |

| This is adaptation in the most perfect form . It took everything it was supposed to cover , expanded upon it , stylized it and then fucking delivered it . I don't know who composed the script for this ep but whoever it is deserves an applause. And of course Megumi ishitani with her out of this world imagination powers as usual . Her artistic mind needs to be studied .... I am still just in awe . It was just ..... Wow .. just wow.... (Also maybe the first time ever that I am happy with the usage of ost I'm an op ep) Also I love you yamato . God bless her beautiful soul.  Thank you op staff for this . |
