I love both, but I guess konosuba will win if comparing the two.
Kazuma's comic time were superb and I would say Konosuba will be the best comedy an8me I have ever seen and made!!
Combatants will be dispatched too I saw it last month. It was another anime with supeb comedy (Written by same author)

Konosuba is more of a parody unlike Rezero which can be quite brutal sometimes.

I liked and rated both of them above 7.

So no, not really. Maybe its just a coincidence on your end.

To be honest, if you want the laughs Konosuba is best... if you want the thick plot and deep story then Re:zero might the best choice. It ain't like Konosuba doesn't have plot but Re:zero really like full blown Sherlock style plot. Personally, like both if them, one for comedy and the other for story.

I loved both the shows (both 9)

*let me give a tip to enjoy them at fullest

Re:zero is a phycological thriller type anime , so you have to open your brains and think on what's going on

whereas

Konosuba is a comedy anime , so just laugh :D

both anime are made different and both meant for different people.

I like both but if I had to choose I would say Konosuba is the best. I’m more attached to the characters, the characters from re:zero are ok but you don’t get the same enjoyment as Konosuba. In re:zero I would say the story is better but I’d take fantastic characters than a good story any day, the animation for both are good.

Konosuba really depends on your sense of humor (personally I love it but I get if someone doesn’t) and I hate to be that person but a lot of people don’t really understand what Re: Zero was going for. Like I’ve met people who do understand and still don’t really like the show, that’s fine I get it’s not for everyone, but a lot of people dismiss Subaru as a simp and a trash character and don’t look into it further cuz they hated that he rejected Rem, or they didn’t even make it to that point because they hated how he acted in Arc 3, or don’t understand why he doesn’t just abuse Return by death and think he’s stupid for not killing himself over and over again. I was one of those people, until I watched season 2, which gave me more context for Subaru’s character, and rewatched the first season, and now it’s one of my favorites.

There is a huge difference between the two. Re:Zero is a dark adventure fantasy isekai while Konosuba is a comedy fantasy isekai. But you can still like both just because you asked a couple of people to watch both doesn’t mean the millions of people that watched both can only like one

I watched both of these shows awhile ago and decided that i didnt like Re: Zero but i liked (sorry loved) Konosuba. Both Issekia but completely different ( at the core at least). Moving forward, one of my friends watched Re: Zero and loves it, whilst when i recommended him Konosuba he watched the first season and gave it a 6. So i decided to ask afew more friends to watch both of the anime, and after a painfully long time, they had finished at least both seasons of Re: Zero and Konosuba . Some of them dropped Re: Zero and gave Konosuba 9-10. Whilst others dropped Konosuba and Loved Re: Zero. So, my final conclusion is either your a Re: Zero fan or a Konosuba fan. There will be out liers who like both or hate both but for now. That is the conclusion i have come to. Anyway dont know why i decided to tell the internet but hey, if you didnt already know. Then noe you do i guess

the people I know that watched both like both. my conclusion is that both are good animes.

I dropped rezero on episode 13 or 15 don't remember
but I loved konosuba it was hilarious af

Konosuba a easy 9.5/10 but on the other hand rezero ...eh a 7/10
but as @_cybersadist_ said both tbh can't really be compared cause indirectly one is a parody of the other haha

its difficult to compare the shows to be honest they are both great for different reasons but yeah overall dude I am going to have to disagree with you cause I am a fan of both and love both although konosuba I love a bit more.

Why limit myself, that’s dumb, I like both
Note: I don’t lazily watch 3-5 episodes, biasedly compare to other anime, or unfairly judge by surface level similarities. With every anime I start, I watch the entire series, both Japanese Sub & English Dub, then judge each anime based on what they present, to give an honest and fair rating.

The two are both isekais, but what they vary in topic is the main focus. Konosuba focuses on funny skits and makes the story more comedic and easy to follow, making the main goal of getting to the demon lord appear like a side goal. Kazuma is there with his party members to explore and encounter different funny and wacky events and show us the funky ways of tackling it.

In Re:zero, the focus is on how weak the protagonist is. It's a deep story showing us how some writers may interpret isekais to be horrific rather than exhilarating. Despite the traumatic events that happen throughout, it shows us how Subaru pulls himself back up to move forward.

The two are both isekais, but they vary greatly in terms of objective and the general point. It wouldn't be surprising if you liked one but hated the other

Would hardly call what Subaru did “moving forward” to me it looked like he just got his ass kicked the whole time. Whack your boss is a video game I like to play that has a similar plot.

Konosuba and Re:ZERO are two amazing shows but the reason why is super different. Konosuba prioritizes comedy over its story while Re:ZERO prioritizes its story. So some people who like Re:ZERO but not Konosuba and the same for Konosuba. But most people will enjoy both

Statistics majors are crying, lol. Nah, but really, plenty of people like both. It makes sense you’d see differences given the difference in tone, plot, and subject, but you can’t make a generalization about *everyone* from anecdotes.

Ya know I’ve never thought about it before, and don’t particularly hate re: zero but a lot of the humor didn’t really do it for me I think it has a lot to do with subaru being a huge simp.

So maybe you’re onto something but who knows.

yeah, the driving force of Re Zero is that Subaru is a simp, but the rest of the characters and plot are perfect

I absolutely love both shows. I think the fact thet are both Isekai means nothing, because KonoSuba is a Parody/Comedy, and Re:Zero is a Psychological/Horror/Thriller. One is lighthearted and the other is serious.

I think this is what leads to the separation you're seeing. However, I absolutely love both shows (though I like Re:Zero more), despite their seemingly opposite themes.

I used to like both.
Today i belive Re: Zero to be complete garbage, Konosuba is a 5/10 in season 1 then it becomes shit because no plot progression and the cognitive impairment of Kazuma(he could just abandon the girls and get an actual party together and solve all his problems, but its a comedy with only 1 joke, so he cant abandon them) annoys me, so I belive both to be shit as of now.
