Attack on Titan
| No, you're not the only one. I don't want a movie either. But just like we got the half-finished "final" season at the tail end of 2020 by a different studio we're probably also getting it anyway, because that's where the money is. Unless the movie does something new like an anime-original ending I have no interest in it because I already know what's going to happen but will have to wait like a year to just see it in a better format. That'd make it 3 years since the "final" season started at least. Another reason we may be getting a movie next year is cos 2023 is the 10th anniversary of season 1 which is a terrible way to celebrate it imo. |

| my question is, will mappa make time for the movie? they have 2 more animes scheduled to be released this year, theres also Kakegurui Twin ONA, next year they also need to work on Jujutsu Kaisen season 2. so i guess the movie will be released in 2023 last months? i mean if its going to be a movie it will have a higher production value so it will take much longer. and there will be rush to release the movie fast so the hype wont die this would surely result in mappa rushing the movie. what another studio will produce the movie or what? |
| Not really fond of the idea. I'd rather see an anime-original ending penned by Isayama himself at this point. But if a movie's inevitable, I'm fine either way. I'll just have to see this through the end. |

We're more likely to get an adaptation of higher quality if they make a movie, so I'd choose that, even if it takes longer. You can always read the manga to avoid spoilers, and if they go for an AOE, then no one can spoil it anyway lol As for the movie title, it could be "Attack on Titan: The Battle of Heaven and Earth" or "Attack on Titan: The Final" (like Gintama), or maybe the title of another chapter: Towards that hill, Wings of Freedom (I think there's already a compilation movie with this title tho), Dedicate Your Hearts, etc. I agree, I actually think the best thing about the movie is that it will give Isayama some time to think of a better ending. Neon Genesis was in a pretty simillar situation before EOE and Anno turned the pretty unimpressive original ending of the show into one of the best endings in anime with eoe. However, even if that doesn't happen at the very least they will be able to clean up the ending as much as possible and distract us with good animation. Probably the thing im scared about the most is that they panick and come up with some really stupid shit like having Eren get killed before he starts the rumbling or them thinking that people's problem with the ending was that it wasn't happy enough. Imagine Mappa haphazardly trying to give Attack on titan a happy ending after having Eren kill 1.6 billion people. I liked how the Eva TV series ended, but yeah, without the movie, that first ending would probably feel incomplete on its own. Yeah, exactly! I also think Isayama could totally pull something like that, and even if it's more or less the same ending as the manga (which I'm fine with, just thought it was kinda rushed), as long as MAPPA can bring some top animation, it will be worth it. Yeah lol no need for a happy ending. |
