FINALLY the backstories are all over, now it's the present timeline! Instantly it's gotten WAAAAAAAAAY better, it's funny, and seems like the story is actually getting somewhere.

I think the fear of Nana Ozaki being a criminal and the shock of meeting Yasu would have been funnier if we didn't actually know their backstories already, but I think this works out too. Knowing ahead of time removes the tension, but I guess that's dramatic irony at work.

Also, this being a Madhouse anime, I wanted to initially compare NANA to either Cardcaptor Sakura or Kobato in its use of colors, lighting, and character designs. However, upon reflection, NANA also shares a trait of having a huge amount of wardrobes. That's a lot of effort, holy crap.

I like the dynamic of these two, it is not the typical "friends that always argue with each other" or fight together kind of thing, they seem to be getting along despite being different girls, and things are finally picking up!

beautiful episode, really loved it... But i swear to god there's just something about shoji that makes me not like him, aside from being kind of a douchbag in Nana Komatsu's backstory my boy here did nothing wrong and because of that i actually feel bad, like i'm hurting his feelings by not liking him or something. If i were to guess why i don't really like him it might be because i'm rooting for the two nanas to become a couple and him being with Komatsu complicates things, i think that's it.
