Lmao people saying that sex scenes = hentai are wrong. Gantz had a full on sex scene but never showed genitalia and that's an anime. As long as the genitalia is not shown it's not hentai.

Obv there are some minor cases where genitalia is shown in anime with a super young goku in Dragonball.

Scenes are Ecchi, not Hentai.

Ecchi is softcore erotic.

Hentai is hardcore erotic.

This is the difference.

Hmm...I don't recall seeing this when I say Magi, and no this does not qualify.

Yeah, this scene took me off guard when i first watched Magi but honestly at worst that would be considered ecchi, and thats only if there is some innuendo combined with it. Just showing boobs isn't anything that bad, but for some reason especially in the west there is a huge stigma towards it.

If I remember, there's no sex so it's not hentai. Heck, Kuzu No Honkai is quite more pornographic than Masou Gakuen to me.

Excessive/Extremely ecchi is probably more accurate.

The trick is, Masou Gakuen HxH works pretty much like a hentai anime, except that there are no penetrations in its sex scenes.
But due to this technicality, it is acceptable to show it on TV.
I haven't seen much Kuzu no Honkai, but I am under the impression that it is a regular romance show with west-normal amounts and quality of sex scenes.

Penetration in the sex scenes doesn't automatically make it a hentai. Yosuga no Sora, the abomination that show is, shows full on sex every other episode and that anime is still considered "ecchi". I think what makes it a hentai and not an ecchi is how the scenes are presented. If the show is built around the sex, and the portrayal of sex, Its a hentai. If it just has sex in it, not necessarily so.

There's no sex going on in the scene, so no.

And even then it depends, if its just GoT level sex its not exactly porn/hentai.

I'm pretty sure sex scenes in Masou Gakuen HxH took more screen time than fight scenes. And they happened every episode. And the show was about them (at least until it grew some plot towards the end).

It's not hentai. It's at most some mild ecchi.

No. Shinmai maou testament and masou hxh would've been labeled hentai if that was the case.
