Kana is obviously best girl, she had her faults but come on, can you blame her? She accepeted the fact that she couldn't end up with Shinichi, rejection hurts. She loved him, despite being a stalker. She just wanted his attention, and who wouldn't want their crush's attention? Kana had more personality and looks than MUrano, all Murano did was ask "Are you really Shinichi-kun?" God was that annoying. Kana's role was far more interesting than Murano.

Murano...she is pretty and cute of course the manga version of murano is alot more good looking and a tad more pleasant....
as far as Kana is concerned i hope a parasyte destroys her so she wouldn't be in the way of Shinichi and Murano

Kana. Although she was delusional her love story was more tragic than that corny “he’s my boyfriend who’s a monster and loves me and protects me” Kanas love story was one sided and was kinda sad. She avoided bullying for him and even loved him for him, she wasn’t scared of him or Migi, I bet if Murano heard what he told Kana she would dump him automatically. Murano is dumb cause she can’t stay loyal at all, she runs, falls back in love, runs, and falls back in love. Atleast Kana was loyal to the end, even if she was delusional.

Personally, I'm not a huge fan of both characters. But I dislike Kana a lot more.

People like to say that Murano is worse because she's a generic love interest. Which is a fair point. But just because Kana isn't a generic character doesn't make her a good character. She was one of my least favorite characters in the show and I'll explain why.

When Kana realizes that she can sense Shinichi, she begins to obsess over him in a unhealthy manner, from constantly stalking him to trying to break his relationship with Murano. Instead of listening to his warnings, she continues to follow him. The problem with her obsession is that she doesn't actually love Shinichi, she loves the idea of him. From her introduction to her death, Kana's reasons for being attracted to Shinichi are extremely superficial. She became enamored with him because she can sense his signal, and found him attractive. But she didn't really like him for who he is. She didn't appreciate him for his values, or his traits. She didn't appreciate his personality or who he is as a person. Kana loved the idea of Shinichi as a strong, knight in shining armor who would sweep her off her feet, as seen in her dreams. But Shinichi isn't that person. Kana fell in love with this fantasy of him, which is why she continues to follow him. Not because she cares for who he truly is, but because she has a made-up notion of him that she blindly believes in. I found Kana's affection for Shinichi to be shallow.

While some people will try to argue that Murano is worse than Kana since Kana was "loyal" to Shinichi, I disagree. Murano is still a generic character, but as a high school girl, it was perfectly normal of her to react to Shinichi the way she did when he was acting strangely. At least Murano knew who Shinichi was as a person, which is why she begins to question him when he began to lose his emotions.

Overall, I found Kana to be more of a nosy, infatuated stalker than best girl. It's OK if you like her as a character and you have the right to disagree. This is just my opinion.

Obviously Kana, she was really beautiful, and Murano was both annoying and without personality. Kana had far more potential and even with less screen time she is a clear winner among anime watchers if you check their favorites count. Her character arc was a waste sadly.

Parasyte generally had horribly written and uninteresting characters, among them Kana was at least okay. The only exceptions were Migi, partially Izumi, but the only really good and interesting character was Tamiya, in an ideal ending she would have gotten together with Izumi, and raised the child together (ofc this is partially a joke).

Thinking about all these, it is actually a miracle, how enjoyable was the show, despite the bad character writing, incoherent story, pretentious and mostly dumb philosophy, and rapidly oscillating power level for story convenience. It is certainly one of the most overrated shows ever, but it was pretty enjoyable for me, except the last quarter which wasn't good IMO.
