| Well, I gave it a 3-episode shot. This interests me far less than the Bount filler arc did, and I didn't even watch all of that. Unlike the folks who posted in 2008, I have all the episodes available to me at once via Crunchyroll. To me the depth of story and characterization is less well done than in the Bount stuff. A lot of it is just silly. It is like the studio called in their B team to do this, they had other commitments, so now its the C team. IMO, the studio would have been much better off to have stuck to the manga throughout. This means there would have been gaps in televising Bleach. I'm imagining something like 13 weeks on, 13 weeks off, etc. (More recently, the series _Haikyuu!!_ has had two 25-episode seasons followed by a 10-episode season, and they are currently waiting for the manga to get far enough ahead for a new season. The gaps are frustrating but the seasons are great.) To interrupt an on-going action story with 22 episodes of an "other world" slice of life thing just doesn't fit. (I guess for the Soul Society parts, "slice of afterlife". 😉 ) On to episode 190 -- Hueco Mundo here I come. |

| Kinda cliche plot, but my inner Bleachie screams "I'm kinda enjoying this so far" As someone who finished the manga this is only an excuse for me to watch more of Ichigo and his friends kicking ass, despite it not being that great. Otherwise kinda enjoyed this episode tbh. Assassins are cool. The assassin at the end made me think of kakashi a bit with the mask and hair. A few laughs in the first part. |
