I finished designing my second anime list, since i joined, so I dont really know if its good.
I tried to keep it simple, as the image shows it all. =3

Feedback would be appreciated. thx!
btw the screen resolution for original view is 1680 x 1050

Nice list guys!

It's like ages ago since I last changed my anime list. To be exact it's been a year. Been busy and lazy at the same time. ^_^

Please let me know if the list shows misplaced graphics in your browser. If you see only the chin of the other guy showing it's back for the bg, it's intentional. I prefer to have an upclose shot of the white-haired guy and the mystery of the chin (lol...if that what you can see only especially if in low res).

Thanks to scorpedo for his kind help in my css problems.

Nice one, Pumpernikkeli. Personally, I don't quite like the background. There are many great high res pics of Hitagi out there which you could use that are of better quality imho.

Meh, i know :P

I looked through konachan but couldn't find anything that would fit there. Everything either has too much random crap in them or are just somehow not-fit-for-my-list :D

I changed the BG either way, but now it looks horribad on anything lower than 1440x900

Nevermind found the original BG in much higher resolution and detail (well, bit different but same render enyway.

@Pumpernikkeli- nice list. You should make part of the hand and scissors as an overlay so it looks like she is going to cut the list. Might have to rotate the background image a bit but it would look pretty cool that way.

@Lieila- I like the flow and color of your list. I'm not a big fan of the color you chose for the mal strip though. A color closer to the one you have behind your updates would look better imo.

@Fabrice- Its a nice simple list. Though a simple top header would be even better. :D

@Pumpernikkeli: I like the bg and individual headers, but I'm not a fan of the main header at the top. It doesn't fit that well. But overall, great list!

Spineslayer; i love that idea but unfortunately i'm not good with CSS so i doubt i could make it.

Yves;Good point, i will experiment with few headers and see if i can come up with anything better. Also i gotta fit the viewmode buttons with some kind of background thingy.

You can try maybe adding "position: absolute;" and "right: 500px;" or so to list_surround to have it to the left of Nagisa all the time.

Decided to make something different for winter...aside from the usual hot half-naked chicks....;_;....

Looks best at or above 1280x1024(Hopefully, got a headache after messing with the overlay for a bit and just left it there, cause i couldn't get it how i wanted it, same with the list colors...;_;...)

can someone tell me why i cannot put my cursor in my code for some reason? every time i add it somewhere, something disappears (overlay image, td2 default image, etc)
think its cause i have too much stuff or something, but not sure.

didnt find it myself, i got it from scorpedo
but didnt go to his extreme of putting it everywhere, since the shadow causes lag in the page.

to make it only appear in anime title links, between a{} an a.visited{}, insert

@atruong18: good job with the list. Might want to change the body background color to black (#000000) though for people with 1920 or higher resolutions. :)

About the text-shadow, I used it myself to make the text easier to read.
using "text-shadow: -0.1em 0.1em 0.5em #000000;" the first two values are the x and y positions of the shadow, the third value is how blurred the shadow is, and last is obviously the shadow color. (so if you want just a glow and not shadow, you can set the first two as zero; or if you want a slight stroke outline, set the first two as zero and third as 0.2em or so)
You can place it in .animetitle as atruong18 did for just the anime titles, or even the body for all text (but yes, it will slightly lag)
(be aware however that IE won't show shadow and Chrome kinda makes the text look funky)

@spineslayer: personally, i like it without the glow. since everything else looks more distinct and having the glow makes it look odd.

@scorpedo: thanks for clarifying that. i kinda assumed the 1st two values were x and y, but the em made me not want to touch it, lol.

edit: okay, figured out my cursor problem (was me being stupid). now trying to figure out how to make the cursor appear in the entire list instead of only the area where the tables are
edit2: cursor can be displayed around the entire page now, except that only applies for the 'currently watching' table. after that, it was the same problem, cursor only appears in table area and images and not outside.
also can someone explain how i can lock my overlay image to the top left?

:3 While looking around in this threat I got a horrible urger to mod my anime list xD
And its been a while with the CSS..
So I went around and was looking what codes people used.

And now I just finished the thing..
Credits to a lot of people xD
Been leaching some codes here and there, added own values and so on.
.. Any thoughts ?

blah, im still trying to figure out how to overlay an image correctly. i cant get it to be positioned correctly.

@Nihagi : No problem with the text for me, and I love the color tones. One thing tho, is that your main header is overrun by the MAL header at the top of the page. Dunno if it's because of the resolution? (1680x1050 here)

Nah.. I made it that way..
:/ dint like the hard or half visible MAL header.. so I made it transp and moved the list up to the new top margin..
The Mal header ain't bothering me.. tho the black text in it do.

..There fixed it..
But its completely screwed over in IE xD

@ atruong18: That moon looks like the same one I used for my manga list. xD The pink of the bg and the red of of the tables don't match that well imo. But overall, cool list. I think that I'm going to steal your eye-blinking idea though, because it looks good on your list. =P

@ Nihagi: Good list. The colors match very well. Only problems are that I don't like how you can see three of the same image when you're at the top of the list, and it takes a little while to load your list. Maybe you can try to reduce the size of the pictures. Just me being picky, though. =)

Take notice of what you are loading when you open the list..
Its not my images thats large. But myanimelist thats slow..

Only the background is large.. the rest is pretty small imo.
Even the list background is 1px high :/ cant get smaller.

Think It might be the glow on the text that is the cause..

regardless.. xD There are 3 other images that have same style and size as the render I used..
But I was to lazy to render them just for this.
