The novels are absolutely brutal with their descriptions and of course, the anime understandably tones it down to make it able to be aired on tv. One example is Clementine's death in S1, where the novels describe how her spine and organs came out of her mouth after Ainz squeezed her while the anime chose to make it a blood squirt before her corpse simply crumples lifelessly onto the ground. Or the most recent example was in this episode when Albedo came to see Philip. It skips ahead to showing the already severed heads of Philip's father and associates but in the novel, Albedo brutally slaughters everyone by impaling them from their crotch and through their mouths. I do highly recommend giving the LNs a try as they describe the events very clearly while also providing background info and context that were skipped in the anime. Jesus Christ. Alright, seems to be a lot more going on in the LNs. I'll take a look ;) |

| This is the best season of Overlord I watch so far, but there was still problems that held it from being a top tier show like pacing, animation and overall direction. AFAIK they never told us about Runner poisoning the orphans to acquire the "negative karma" necessary to use that cube shaped item in order to turn herself into an immortal daemon and live with her beloved "pet" Climb for eternity which was her goal from the start apparently? Instead they showed us a flashback montage of things we already knew :/ Looking forward to the movie though which I assume would be coming next summer. |

| An entire Kingdom was practically obliterated by a yandere and a stupid noble. Only in Overlord. Entertaining season overall. Utterly predictable because "Sasuga, Ainz-sama" but still enjoyable for other aspects such as worldbuilding and some character interactions. They never explained the whole "negative karma" shit tho. And instead we got a Disney musical parody but well. 7/10 - Looking forward to the movie and probably a Season 5 announcement. |

| It took me whole four seasons to realize that Overlord is not my cup of tea. I find no joy in watching the strong absolutely trample on the weak for no apparent reason whatsoever. Kinda reminds me of the evil in this real world we live in and I'm supposed to enjoy watching something like that? No thank you. Ains mentioned to that prince that he is doing all these evil for happiness and that makes absolutely no sense. From what I've seen, the real reason he is doing what he is doing is coz he's dumber than his servants and lacks the backbone to oppose or correct them coz he's afraid that he might lose their respect. If he were a psychopath or some evil man to begin with, the things he did might make some sense. But his monologues and thought processes suggests otherwise, that he is still a sane rational individual. We can see that from how angry he got when those evil men brought the prince's head and as a result sentenced them to an excruciatingly painful death. Speaking of someone who deserve such a fate, Princess Renner. He should have done the same to the princess in the first place to be consistent with his character. Characters like the Prince, the righteous Sebas or even the evil Demiuge makes more sense compared to Ains. At this point I can only thing that the author just want to write a story with an evil protagonist so he's just going along with whatever that comes to his mind. Some years ago, I was trying to choose between Overlord, Slime and Re:Zero for an isekai light novel to read. I'm glad that I chose slime coz now I know I wouldn't enjoy reading Overlord. |

| The problem with having just 13 episodes is that many of the battles were underwhelming. We know Ainz and his servants are strong but I just can’t feel their level of power in any of the battles due to it being either too short or skipped. Princess Renner’s singing was unnecessary in my opinion, that screentime would be better off placed else where. I don’t know what to feel about Climb, he wants to be noble but he is just so gullible and unaware of his surroundings. If anything, Brain and Gazef had the better outcome than him. |

Prince in the other hand were loyal to his nation to the very end and in my opinion he would be better as a nazaric force then that insane Princess, same with Gazef or Brain. |
| I've always felt Overlord was a two steps forward, two steps back sort of series. Every time it did something interesting it would follow it up with something cringey and the overall impression was one of wasted potential. This season though, this season is consistently pretty good. My only real complaint is the final arc, as it really doesn't make any sense to destroy the whole kingdom just because a random nobody robbed a carriage. And no, the logic of 'we need to make sure people are terrified of attacking us' doesn't hold any water since everyone was already terrified of them. |
| This episode return to a dark ambiance, that works pretty well. Too bad we had to wait 13 episodes for this. |
| Really love this episode, Renner is my favorite character and i want to see her as a demon so i'm satisfied, hearing her singing was great too. |
