I'm so mad about this serious ending, they didn't show who won, who died, who was left, they left us curious to only show it at the end, there was no hook for the next character, they didn't show who killed the girl in the fourth episode, how seriously mad |

Thats why they use same voice when in competition, i thought they just reused the VA. Lol but how can he sure e soul will change. Prob its old e soul who win. And cause the destruction scene, we dont know who E soul now. But yeah absolute cinema, esp when they chose the uncle VA. All according to plan. Aizen being aizen. |

Absolutely incredible ending to E-Soul’s arc holy shit. No disrespect to Nice, but this was 100x better and I LOVE how morally ambiguous they made Yang out to be. It absolutely makes sense that he’d potentially kill Moon in the future, I mean the dude just killed his hero who saved his life as a kid after destroying his reputation. Not to mention all the stuff about Shang we learned today, this was a masterclass both in animation and character writing. Bravo.
Xia and Yang tried to hold it together for a while, but you could tell things would never quite be the same after Shang’s death. Xia had unresolved feelings for him, Yang had unresolved feelings for her and deep down he hated himself because he could’ve saved Shang Chao, but hesitated. I love how this series makes characters out to be flawed and truly human. It’s totally natural to hesitate like that out of jealousy, it’s not right, but it’s human and real humans aren’t cartoon characters who are paradigms of justice.
New E-Soul vs Old E-soul was absolutely incredible bro, the fact Yang’s aura literally changes the art style to 2D is fucking incredible. You also hear a snap sound when it happens which seems to be a theme here! Tons of cool camera angles, great storyboarding and compositing, perfection. Feel so awful for Old E soul going out like that after having his name dragged and dude never even cared about rankings. Legit one of the good guys and gone for nothing.
Not Xia going to lucky cyan’s concert by herself with the 3 tickets she got for her, yang and Shang.. FUCK.
I’m still confused on who Uncle Rock is supposed to be, but whoever he is, he was playing 4D chess the whole time clearly. Yang’s old life is gone and he’s now fully e soul, working for the same dude who set up Shang’s murder and Xia’s brother’s kidnapping. Painfully tragic twist.
On the bright side, lucky cyan arc finally coming next week and it’s gonna be mainly 2D let’s goooo. Each arc seems to be getting better and better I can’t wait.

(https://www.reddit.com/r/ToBeHero_X/comments/1kp7he6/comment/mswhjvf) its funny that newscasters before the battle said that "in their world" the power is based on trust :D (maybe subtitles are not accurate) |

people assume that yang chen won but its not impossible for old e soul to have won and just become younger, taking on the mantle of 'new e soul' though this might be reaching since i cant see rock manipulating old e soul as well as he did with yang chen, then again he might be just as easy to manipulate who knows. As for appearance change, we have already seen trust value affect physical body with nice, so with someone who always wears a mask its just a matter of build becoming similar and just becoming younger again. Considering e soul did not take the mask off even in the tower this makes me think that this theory is kind of valid, or it might just be darth vader all over again. that aside, poor xia qing, hope she did not get offed somewhere in the background by old man rock and she will reappear again later |

Marinate1016 said: I’m still confused on who Uncle Rock is supposed to be My money is on being the CEO of the brand company that backed old E-Soul. Old E was bound to grow old and die, which would be loss of revenue for the company. It just so happens old E-soul never took off his helmet, allowing anyone to essentially assume his identity. That's where all the E-soul actors come in and why the brand company hosts imitation auditions. |

@Marinate1016 the 6 minute PV released on YouTube shows X snapping his fingers and changing the animation style. There’s also videos on YouTube called character PVs which give a little backstory and preview. Additionally, someone on twitter has been translating some Chinese materials that provide more information, such as the names of the 4 big hero corporations, and which heroes they employ. There is also a To Be Hero X website which has some information. I think someone else on here made a thread which had links to all the relevant videos. |

Why does everybody thinks, that the New E-soul survived? At the end of the episode it is clear, that the surviving E-soul has a robot arm, and Yang didn't have one. Doesn't this tells us, that the Old E-Soul won, and the New E-Soul was basically just a sacrificial pawn created by Rock, to renew the interest in E-soul and elevate its Trust value back? Also wouldn't the fact, that the surviving E-soul didn't question Rock's CEO identity (and Yang only new him as a Coffee owner) , would also be telling us, that he isn't the New but the Old E-Soul? Am I missing something here or all others just assumed, that Yang won (because it would make sense from a story writing point of view) and they are mistaken? |

Yang Cheng's story is essentially a parallel to Lin Ling's. LL was able to beat this hero system by being his true self, whereas YC failed; he didn't keep this kind of promise to his love interest and fell victim to the system due to his insecurities. Two love stories ended at the sea shore, poetic and tragic. Team LL still |

This arc's plot is kinda stupid. How many times am I gonna see the social media strat (not just in this anime but in every other movie/TV show as well)? The old E-Soul did LITERALLY NOTHING but work out in his house, he wasn't even saving people or doing anything bad and then he "dies" like a bitch. But the animation is good I guess so I give it a 10/10 cause that's all that matters these days |

Honestly, I've changed my mind on To Be Hero X. It's not generic hero anime. The story has so many twists that you'll have to dig deep in order to figure out what's happening. Old E-Soul is dead. Yang is now working for Rock who was apparently behind everything. Peak episode. It hit me both emotionally and morally. |

This anime is something else. The animation, art style, plot, perfect character flaws that people also have in real life to make it more realistic, background music everything is top notch and with every episode it leaves you craving for more episodes. This episode concluded the E-soul arc with pretty satisfactory ending rather than the Nice arc with ended with a huge cliffhanger. |

There are a few things that confuse me... Why did Yang Cheng challenge the original E-Soul? Like, it wasn't ever truly implied that E-Soul would be the main culprit behind Shang Chao's death. Yes, we as viewers know it was Uncle Rock who arranged the whole deal, but where did Yang Cheng get the idea, and thus decide to challenge the original E-Soul? He seemed to be in so much rage, so it would have made sense if he thought original E-Soul was the one behind Shang Chao's death, but...was it ever clearly stated? Or, should we just piece together from the clues we got? But if so, it still doesn't make sense. After all, it was Shang Chao's father who had enlisted Enlighter to investigate the case and find the true 'mastermind' behind all. Yang Cheng knew after all, the thug brothers' other brother was behind the trigger pulling, but there was obviously someone behind it all...so, if Enlighter said 'it was the original E-Soul!' he either did a poor job or Shang Chao's father wanted get rid of the original E-Soul (politics? Revenge?) or Uncle Rock made very good trail to original E-Soul (and thus Enlighter deemed him as the "true" mastermind behind Shang Chao's death). Or, is this all up to the watcher to decide, or later on to find? Also, if in the end the new E-Soul was indeed Yang Cheng, why would he be with Uncle Rock? Wouldn't he realize there was something fishy with Uncle Rock, as before he portrayed to Yang Cheng as being a barely staying business store manager? He even stated to Uncle Rock 'this ad must have cost a fortune...' so, Uncle Rock turning out to be a powerful CEO who runs a hero business? Erm, shouldn't that ring any alarms or something? Or, are we supposed to just assume Yang Cheng would be brainwashed enough at that point not to see anything wrong in that? That all the fame of being E-Soul get to his head, and he chose to ignore this clearly suspicious fact? Or, should we viewers assume there was a small time skip between the two E-Souls' fight and the last scene where Uncle Rock goes to see the brand new E-Soul? |

Why did Yang Cheng challenge the original E-Soul? Like, it wasn't ever truly implied that E-Soul would be the main culprit behind Shang Chao's death. Yes, we as viewers know it was Uncle Rock who arranged the whole deal, but where did Yang Cheng get the idea, and thus decide to challenge the original E-Soul? He seemed to be in so much rage, so it would have made sense if he thought original E-Soul was the one behind Shang Chao's death, but...was it ever clearly stated? @Tuliharja 1st, he know who the killers are and they should be in prison right now. Someone bailed them out and YC suspected they're from Comisssion, which lead him to distrust them and wanted to handle the case himself. He knew those thugs had beef with him and someone from Comission wanted to capitalize that, which lead him to what he experienced in ep 6 to be prime suspect. @Niwaka-Samurai 3 seats as in Lucky Cyan concert' seats |

I assume the someone on Twitter you’re talking about is Rin? I’m moots with them if so I need to check their tweets more π |

@Marinate1016 Yep, that's the one! One interesting thing they've recently posted is a quote from Li Haolin, the director. "the 3D arc also comes to an end (temporarily). The heroes that follow will be animated entirely in 2D!" Looking forward to some high quality animation. |
