I don't think the guy is HATING on Bleach per say, it's just that a lot of the soundtrack in TYBW is less memorable than the original Bleach. While it is a wartime setting and the stakes are higher than in OG, a lot of the music feels more generic than opposed to stuff like Number One or Here to Stay as some prime examples. This doesn't make the show horrible, not at all, but some of the remixes just don't hit as hard as stuff in the OG. If they had kept the original score, I don't think any of us would have any complaints, but considering it has been 11 years since Bleach wrapped up in 2012, there were bound to be some changes made. TLDR; show good, music hits, but not as hard

Not to mention the tracks created specifically for TYBW also lacks that catchiness the older tracks had aswell, and instead sounds like generic ambient music that is just serviceable, the only exception being that new Shinji Theme "Everything i Lost"....

Does anybody else feels the same? Why the new music in Bleach sounds more weak and generic?

It seems like you’re talking about the soundtrack, and not the openings and endings. I can’t speak too much about the soundtrack as I don’t pay too much attention to it, but the op/ed of TYBW are pretty damn good in my opinion.

Also number one is the only soundtrack song that I like, and TYBW has a version of it that goes harder than the one in the first bleach series.

I think the new remixes are nice. My problem is that their volume is too low, the songs are actually really good (and I do recommend listening to the OST in separate), but get obfuscated by all the loud constant action and talking going on.

I'm hoping for a proper 5.1 channel surround release for the BD to help with that, since the TV transmission and streaming services don't quite help the case with their encodes.

I agree. I honestly am not a big fan of the old music in Blech but it had some very good and distinctive songs. This season I only liked 3 osts including two remixes of the old soundtrack lol and this some new song they played in Ichigo's battle with Ywach (when Ichigo already lost)

The issue is that the soundtrack is a few dB too low in every single episode... In the original series and movies it really was popping.

Yeah Bleach pre TYBW had a good use of background themes but ever since it came back it's been one of it's weaker aspects.

1st cour had good usage of new OSTs and remixes, but in the 2nd cour it is getting annoying that most of them are reused. Because of that some scenes and fights may not feel unique. But I still find them better and much more memorable compared to other animes airing this season

I'd say it isn't that great but also it isn't that much bad. Not to mention that the bar for Bleach music is already very high which is the difficulty to reach it one more time. Spanish themed music wouldn't fit here as it is for Espada/Arrancars so far there are none of them fighting, maybe it will appear in Cour 3 as I'd rather not spoiler down what will happen in the incoming events. Nothing can be explained has appeared in Episode 7 of cour 1. Number One has appeared in episode 1 + the movie version has appeared for Renji's come back in episode 6 of cour 2. Shiro Sagisu has made song book with Precipice remix not sure if it has appeared yet in anime. Battle Ignition remix is also out for Shinji's fight in episode 4 of cour 2 if I have not mistaken the episodes.

So far most of the stuff are either new like the God's Gift from Evangelion brought into Cour 1 [Yamamoto's fight, or rather to say his arrival into Stern Ritter Y fight] + Cour 2, or remixed version of soundtracks which appeared originaly for I suppose Fade Black movie/Hell Verse and than into Season 1 than for Cour 1 like Nightmare, Lucifer's Dance etc. Cour 1 stuff are already in public at Aniplex channel + Slip Away is available through Shiro Sagisu song book as it has appeared for Rukia Bankai + Gremmy's death.

@TheBlackPlague Pretty much a good take. All those songs you mentioned except Invasion and Treachery are lame/trash, don't know how people overhype these songs. Fullbring Arc uses a lot of songs from the Hell Verse Movie which are way better than most Hueco Mundo songs. Cometh The Hour Part A and B, Incantation Pt. E, Chokkaku (aka Dangai Ichigo theme).

As for tybw they have amazing songs: Yamamoto theme, Kenpachi vs Unohana theme, Sternritters trailer song, Ichigo vs Quilge theme, On The Precipice of Defeat remix, Number One remix, Nothing Can Be Explained remix (which has better instrumentals than the original imo) as well as Getsuga Jujisho theme. So i don't really see how the soundtrack got weaker.

@Cloun_S You are in a clear minority pal. All these songs from Hueco mundo i just listed are extremely iconic. TYBW while not bad, is not as memorable or catchy as how Bleach used to do its soundtracks.

@TheBlackPlague Yeah, I know that I'm a minority here considering how popular the Hueco Mundo songs are. TYBW seems kinda mixed in the opinions, there are a lot that loved it and it seems in the views in the songs previews released and covers made by fans.

It also seems the reason that Hueco Mundo songs got popular was because of this Eternal Raijin guy that made remixes that are worse than the original, and still attracted the attention of non-bleach fans. I've seen and known people that love the remix but doesn't even know where it comes from

Edit:damn i was listening to shiro new ost he was working on for bleach i believe it leaked...we are getting some treachery,invasion level ost in the upcoming episode..this may very well be the best ost in bleach
