you just can't translate the dialogs because most of the jokes are only make sense in Japanese language which the fans aren't understand fully. So who are you ?

the monogatari series literally is built around the Japanese vocabulary 90% of the dialogue plays with how the language works. dubbing it would destroy a ton of the meaning behind what they say. the closest we've gotten to a good dub is the Audio book and even that's far from perfect.
monogatari is 90% built around the conversations with characters.

no the light novels do have an official translation it’s just some of the wordplay gets lost when going from japanese to english so it’s impossible to get the original experience

Honestly I can't imagine this series being dubbed. It has insane amount of dialogue each episode that just couldn't work in english I think. Also finding voice actors that would fit those charachters would be hard too. Some jokes that u hear a lot probably wouldn't work and wouldn't be as good in english too. Anyway that's what I think.

That said, the literal only reason why none of Monogatari has an English dub is because it's licensed by Aniplex of America. That's it. Most Aniplex shows that weren't Sword Art Online or other mainstream action shows before 2019 just weren't dubbed probably because they didn't see the value in having it dubbed. Fortunately, that's been starting to change since Funimation and Aniplex entered into a joint venture following the purchase by Sony a couple years ago, but there's no telling if any of their older shows will eventually be getting dubs or not yet.

Yes they are. The official english releases are up to Zoku Owarimonogatari.

On a side note, that’s a great Trash Taste clip, and they’re right about it being impossible to fully translate. A lot is lost in the process, though it is still a great read

Do any of you actually speak Japanese though, unless you speak Japanese, how the fuck do you know what kind of word play and innuendo is being used, there’s a language barrier no matter what, sub or dub, either way it’s being translated into English, and things are getting lost in translation. So there’s really no good reason it’s not dubbed, monogatari fans are wild lol

A lot of the story of the anime is heavily based on the Japanese language and Japanese words, just wouldn’t work in English. It barely works with subtitles as it is.

People who speak English and Japanese have said that half the enjoyment of the series is lost in translation. The dialogue uses many of the intricacies of the Japanese language, a lot of wordplay and stuff that isn't really a part of our language.

It would be the same case if a western show used the same kind of wordplay that can only be particularly understood by English speakers.
