Is Armin a good character?

It's definitely way funnier on how you can understand and think he's a good character when

He's objectively trash character that does stupid shit.

It doesn't matter if he was with or against the genocide because it was Eren's decision to make and no one could have changed his mindset
Armin just accepted it because he couldn't do anything at all , but the latest dialogue made it look cringe and doesn't explain it as it should
And even if you disagree with me , he offers more to the story than just being smart character, He forms an essential part of Eren's motives, without which the Eren we know would not have been formed

Personally, I don't think Erwin would have been able to do anything either. He would just be working in the shadows of Eren after his huge development in season 4. I agree though, Armin's character could have been used much better post-timeskip.

Armin has served his role incredibly well , and it was to get to the ocean
That being said his role after that has changed , if you truly think he has no character development then you're just confirming my statement 👍🏻

Armin is easily one of the best characters in the whole story. ESPECIALLY if you consider his development in the final arc.

everyone from alliance don't really have a plan to secure Paradis future and don't know why they were trying to stop the rumbling. Eren is part of alliance as well all of Armin's charecter development meant nothing after S4

They were trying to stop the rumbling, because saving the lives of billions of people all over the globe is more important then saving one small island. It's called seeing the bigger picture.

Saving Paradis is simply not worth it the rest of the planet dies for the sake of it's survival.

If they don't have a plan to secure Paradis's future they become terribly writing characters ?
I'm not sure it was their first plan or even if there was a lot of options to choose while they had to deal with Eren's genocide ..
As of why they stopped the rumbling, This was actually output about the purely humanity in the first place, they did not accept genocide because that would not make them better than Marley, and also because they would benefit of the result of becoming heroes.

He's fine but oftentimes feels more a plot device than a character, more often than not his character did boil down to being a smart boy though he gets more going on from around the 3rd season onwards. I like the stuff about the feelings of forced responsibility and doubting his thought process in more recent events.

Imo it depends. Up to Marley arc he was a really good character, but everything after was just downhill for him. I understand, respect, and even support the core idea of what he's doing post timeskip, but it's just so badly executed it feels like he's being sidelined all of the time and whenever he's on screen it feels forced. Not to say he also lost all of his charisma and became a lot dumber now, though the series tries to make it seems like he still is intelligent.

It's a shame, considering he was pretty much the second most intelligent character in the series, after Erwin.
