| I gave up already a episode ago im just reading a manga on the side with the anime playing to. Yeah theres slight differences every episode but can this dumbass just speak up?? |

| Honestly pretty interested to see how this arc will go, heard a lot about the endless eight so i'm kinda excited to see what and how they present the idea both thematically and narratively, so far pretty creative with the changes from last ep with Kyon and the group realising their in a loop and trying but failing to break out. Honestly the idea itself kinda haunts me, like the thought of an omnipotent God with the personality of a high school girl just deciding she wanted to repeat 3 weeks forever and ever until she was satisfied and the people around her slowly remember their past loops via déjà vu through decades of loops feels surreal. Also because one time i had a really bad high and felt like i was having constant déjà vu and thought i was going to die lol. Fuck the way my heart broke hearing Nagato mention the number of loops they had been through. I theorised quite quickly that if anyone was going to realise they're in a loop, Nagato would probably be the first but i didn't expect her to realise from the very beginning and hearing 15498 times made me actually wince. Like i know she's some Alien data entity that's made to store and observe data on Haruhi, but part of me always wanted to believe she had at least some shreds of human emotion and feeling, thus there is some insane level of existential dread i feel when i then think about how is she had emotions, how much of her was craving this eternal loop to end by begging the others to help solve the issue but instead listened to her protocol and just silently watched her friends slowly realise they're in a loop, just for the next loop to come and they'd either forget or make minor progress in solving the issue. Honestly brought a whole new level of dread every time the camera panned to her just sitting alone and staring off because doing this for 594 years has to be akin to some kinda torture even for an Alien data entity even one with no emotions no? |
