| 1/5 Hands down the worst episode of the season. Had to watch it on 2x speed. I know what the author was going for by trying to subvert the "Tournament Trope" of every shonen, but there's a reason some tropes are tropes, and it's because they work. Pretty sure no one wanted to see a pointless, filler-esque baseball match. |
| DAAAAMN! I mean damn! Gojo just completely obliterated Hanami’s arm with that last attack and obviously the latter’s still alive but yeah he’s certainly not in any shape to fight again. This episode did give us a flashback on what the thought process of the cursed spirits’ plan to attack the Goodwill Festival was about. I like how in other animes when you see the villains they are in a hideout or something but here with the cursed spirits they just chill out on a beach somewhere and drink coconuts it’s pretty sick actually. And we do see there’s some development here because we now have Mahito and the others planning on using Sukuna discreetly and try to remove Gojo from the equation so that he’s only got to do with the students for Halloween, October 31 specifically. Does make me feel intrigued about what Sukuna is gonna do in future episodes though. The next half of the episode is essentially still the Goodwill Festival technically but now we are dealing with a baseball game. And quite actually I think it’s a nice refresher and considering it was a battle the students pretty much just had that’s saying a lot. Quite a lot of wholesome moments and funny moments during it. Maki just throwing the ball at Todo in fastball style with the caption of everyone apart from Yuji hate him. XD From Momo catching the ball on her broom to Mechamaru just being a pitching machine there was a lot to like in terms of separate moments here. Once again really good refresher episode, pretty much after this it’ll be business as usual though. So these last couple of episodes should pretty much keep me on my toes there. Great stuff all around otherwise. |
