| Honestly impressed by the small and subtle details in this episode. It helped accentuate what the characters were truly feeling. That's great direction. |
| I wonder what age Frederica is. She looks about eleven or twelve, but there's no way a toddler would be giving people orders as the empress of a nation, given that was her position a decade prior to the current period. Perhaps Ernst doesn't have ulterior motives after all, and is sympathetic towards Spearhead without pretence. He seemed more emotionally genuine in this episode than he did in the last one. |

| Not really sure why there's a loli talking about blood and soil, the show was hardly subtle before but now they got the imouto spouting nazi slogans. Aside from that an enjoyable episode seeing them struggle to adapt to civilian life. Also I caught that couple behind Anju when she was asked about her dreams, sneaky. |

| If there has been an episode that showed the biggest flaw of 86 it's this episode. Jesus Christ this series needs exposition, and it needs it at an alarming rate. I got it in Season 1, everything outside the Republic is very nebulous and your prime focus is on the 86ers dying useless deaths. But holy crap this can't go on like this. Apparently all characters know what happened but the viewer doesn't. wtf happened that led to the Legions, the war, everything. No it doesn't count if it happens in 3 LN volumes or 2 episodes, it needed that right in this episode. You can't just throw the characters into a normal society that isn't a racist dystopia and go on with everything as if it was normal. You need to tell the viewer the history, the flipping story. I am trying to come up with a comparison to other series but I seriously can't come up with one. Mystery is a good plot device but it's weird to see it employed in a series about a continental war. Other than that: Lenas design was still for the creeps who look under the skirts of figurines and it's cringe in a series of this tone. |
