Whoa, Lady Tamayo's spell is wild. Why didn't she just do that at the beginning? She is so sweet though.

Lots more action in this one. It appears that the top 12 die slower than regular demons as well? Any normal demon would have not been able to keep attacking for that amount of time after being decapitated. Why is the eye still there?

And this episode has one of the ultimate "Keep my name out yo fuckin' mouth" with a literal hand to the face.. or whole arm really.

and that yellow-orange haired dude is giving Natsu vibes on the marry me thing.

Ohh, so the Arrow Demon still gave Tanjiro some trouble, even when his head was cut off. Still, Tenjiro was able to survive, but he wasn't able to continue fighting, so the other Demon was dealt by Nezuko, Tamayo and Yushirou.

Not going to lie, it was very Shounenish the whole thing of Nezuko growing stronger because... well, because she could I guess. Like, how did she lose a leg last episode, because the Temari were too strong, and now it's just fine?
I don't know, but it was cool the fight.

And the way Tamayo used her spell to make the demon state Muzan's name, activating the curse was a really smart move. And the curse really is gruesome... The demon was crushed into pieces, left to die until the sun came up... The other demon from before wasn't lying when he said he couldn't state his name.

In the end, Tamayo and Yushirou follow their own paths, and Tanjirou and Nezuko their own too, staying together, like they should.

Right in the end we get to see the blonde character that has appeared during the Demon Slayer exam, and of course, in the opening. It's kinda crazy thinking he is going to be one of the main characters, and is only being introduced in the next episode, which is the 11th already. And we still have the guy with the boar head to be introduced too.

Edit: Also, it's interesting how, once again, the anime showed the Demons being victims of Muzan, and Tanjirou understanding that. Tamayo crying when Nezuko treated her like family was also a sweet moment, considering how she feels losing the humanity side is an equivalent as dying, and we got to know a bit more of Yushirou's backstory, which is also really sad.

It sucks that when those demons get destroyed by the curse, you can hear their past version when they weren't a demon. Every single one of them had a life worth living. That's an aspect of this show that I like a lot. It was also nice that Yushirou called Nezuko pretty.

Yushiro's single-minded simping has by far been the worst part of this series. Part of me wants to see Tamayo's return later in the series but fuck me not if Yushiro is keeping her company.

This series is giving me strong Inuyasha deja-vu so far; I don't think it's a criticism (yet), but the similarities keep piling up.

Best part of the series so far is Tanjiro's empathy as he continues uncovering traces of humanity from dying demons. I hope that continues being emphasized.

Solid 6/10 arc. Land of Waves still remains the crowning GOAT opening shounen arc.

A couple positives:

  1. Kibutsuji Muzan. Not present in this episode, but his character is strengthened. He deceives even his own underlying. Kibutsuji rules through fear & lies. Classic villainy. If the story is well-written, the battle between Kibutsuji and Tanjirou will contrast not only powers, but their morality
  2. The Kamado siblings. Tanjirou & Nezuko's relationship is a focal point of both their characters, the emotional cornerstone of the story so far. It's not developed well, so seeing the two commit to journeying together, even if separation may be the wiser option, builds their relationship for the audience.

A couple negatives:

  1. Kibutsuji Muzan. Uh... he's been found. Why isn't this reported to HQ? Why isn't this the centre of the story now? Why does Tanjirou just leave? He wasn't sent here to kill two insignificant goons. The story just hand waives this plot detail with an emotional sentiment, despite it not making any sense.
  2. For a broken leg & rib, Tanjirou can still move quite well.

This is a well animated shounen, but the story all this time & talent was dedicated to it isn't the most enrapturing tale. Kimetsu no Yaiba far from terrible, but every episode I'm thinking about ways it could've been told more interestingly. For example, Tanjirou arriving at Tokyo for the first time. He's a rustic who's never set foot in a city. This is used as a joke in the beginning and nothing else. Why not make this a reoccurring aspect of these episodes/chapters? There's an entirely foreign lifestyle the main characters interact with. Instead Tokyo is basically reduced to a setting for another fight to happen in, and nothing more. A better written tale wouldn't have squandered this opportunity.
